    Medibank no thanks

    • why?

Since they were sold in the public tender practices have changed

      • because health is more important when with medibank for whatever reason you ask claim for either they refuse or else provide less benefits been with them for 1.5 years and regretted from day one poor customer service and every time either post and or go there office for making any claims there app doesnt work they are losing customers so doing the promotions

    • What's wrong with them?

  • Why REBEL SPORTS should have a choice..

  • I prefer cash.

  • Whats the best health insurance company to join with these days? HCF, NIB, Bupa? I am looking into options like free teeth cleaning, free physio, eye checks, no excess for over night procedures, etc.

I am after a good comprehensive cover as well as an affordable premium for my health, as you all know we are ageing…

Unfortunately no one will be able to answer this accurately.

For me, I need top cover for psychiatric so Bupa / HIF turn out to be the best. I’m currently with Bupa top / HIF saver extras.

You just need to sit down in front of a PC, figure out what you need / will likely need and spend half an hour doing some research. If it’s mainly extras / free dental you’re after I would recommend HIF as they cover 100% of all costs for general dental and 60-80% for other dental. Plus it helps to find a “no gap” dentist if you need other stuff done.

      Hope this helps.

      • OK, thanks. Currently with Medibank and looking into the market for better value. In changing companies how does it work with waiting periods? Will it most likely be 6 month wait for a majority of things or do they work off your track record from your previous health care provider?

you can transfer waiting periods from one provider to another generally they do it themselves which takes way longer cancel medibank and they will send you waiting periods certificate provide it to new provider do all on same day

        • @awaischb: Thanks

  • Used to be with medibank.
Was happy with them until i actually had to claim on a hospital visit.
    Their admin was terrible.

Having to re-explain myself over and over again …telling my whole life story every time I had to call them.

Which was a lot, because they kept asking for documents etc they had already been sent over and over again.

The worst of both worlds- they still have the stench of government ineptitude and bureaucracy… except now with the cost cutting bare minimum private company approach
