Does it connect via BT to your phone and alert you about receiving a text?

      • +2

Yes. You can use the Mi Fit app (official) or 3rd party app Notify and Fitness, there's a few variants of that app depending on the type of Band you have (I have a Mi Band 2 version at the moment).

To have it sync to Strava you need to pay for an addon via the Notify and Fitness app to force it to sync into Strava as Strava officially only support the Amazfit Pace ($200+ Android 5.5 powered version of this).

        • +1

I didn't know about that. I'll do that, been missing the attached synchronization

        • @moggyx: how did you go?

        • +2

@Maygus: I have kids, this will take some time

A huami amazfit bip and nothing else

        • +1

          photo or it wasnt true

    • Not sure if you have or ever have had a Mi Band 2, but this vs a Mi Band 2 (which I have)?

      • +3

I have both and this kills the band 2. GPS, stellar battery life, being able to read messages and scroll through history instead of just seeing who sent something is great.

Can you load waypoints into it for hiking? Eg it points you in a direction and shows distance to a certain point/s.

      • No, just track from what I know, you might need the pace for that

    • How does the heart rate monitoring perform with high intensity workouts?

    • Does it have music control?

      • No music control, get the pace if you need that

    • +1

Would this be a good Pebble replacement if I want want phone notifications and music control?

      Thanks.

      • +2

No music control, but aside from that good Pebble replacement

        • Thanks mate!

    • Comfort? Profile?
Looks like it would fit like a normal watch.

    • Is this original Xiaomi?

Gearbest has another Xiaomi BIP for $110 https://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_662581.html which says "Original Xiaomi Huami AMAZFIT Bip Lite Version Smart Watch"

      Wondering if $82.50 is fake?

  • this or the other xiaomi smart watch (round face) cant remember the name
    found. cheaper here than gearbest

      this.
the pace is a battery hog

    • The pace has a version of Android, so you can install apps and all that. This is basic os but works as advertised

  • +2

"45 day battery" is this real?

    • +2

Yes, if you don't use the GPS.

  • +2

can you control spotify with it?

    • +1

      Nope

      • thanks. didnt think so but was hoping

    • Nah

    • If it's like the notify app for band 2… Maybe. I haven't installed it to check though.

Whats the difference compared to the Chinese version that was much cheaper here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/341011

    • There is no difference now. Firmware originally only supported Chinese, now I believe it is based off your phone. Mine magically switched to English

      • Thanks. That's what I read somewhere too. I really like it. Just hoping it will be cheaper to the price in Nov 17

      • Hurm if it isn't an issue anymore then I think I've seen "Chinese" brand a few dollars cheaper again.

$78.45 AUD delivered so slightly cheaper (though mine took 2 weeks to ship out). On sale for 2.5 more days.

    • This ship from HK so I would expect same as Gearbest, also geekbuying offers more colour so I will give them a go. Cheers

    • GeekBuying has $1 USD for Australian Direct Shipping.. Much quicker than normal post.

      • huh? Downvoted? Must be a Geekbuying hater?

    • i ordered mine from geekbuying on 5th dec hoping to get it before xmas, after a gentle reminder they only just shipped it on 2nd jan, almost a whole month later

  • This seems the same as a Mi Fit 2

      • I suppose, if u buy from PayPal, u can open the dispute, only if u want to take risk of 15 bucks.

    • +1

yeah that's a scam listing. I've reported it. I contacted seller and got nothing but "yes friend. This is genuine. You buy now."

      • And theeen???

  • I’m going to hold out for a discounted pace, music playback is worth it for me. I’ve seen it at some pretty decent prices so fingers crossed that’s soon,
