Thieves are attracted to these things. How do you secure these without needing to worry about it being stolen?

    • I bought the Arlec Solar ones from Bunnings for $49.

They have a removable solar panel.

I charge them up out the back during the day, place them out front at night and bring them in before bed. Thieves is dependant on area and luck, but so far I haven't had the 3 I run get flogged. If they did get flogged, maybe they would return them as they are useless with the detached solar panels not being with them.

Doesn’t matter. You’d still be $49 out of pocket

True, but I probably have a bit more confidence in my suburb than you based on your premature fear…..

Wouldnt that be the case with all Xmas lights? $22.25 is cheap compared to some of the other lights / ornaments that are on display.

Couple of cable ties is enough to stop someone grabbing it and walking off. Otherwise it’s a $22 risk if you choose to live on the edge and take a massive gamble ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    • If they're powered, I put all my powerboards in a locked box with a hole in the side to let cords in. Pretty hard to steal something if you can't take the power with it.

  • No solar ones there yesterday.

  • People steal Xmas lights??
