        • @JD6750:
Interesting, I never got that link.

Using Google translate I got the following email:

          Dear Customer,

A problem occurred when confirming your payment information. To avoid any improper use of your card, we put orders on hold and >locked your account. You can not place orders as we have not verified your information.

To solve this problem, we must check a recent statement of your Master card ending with xx. To download your statement on our >portal secure document, login to your account and follow the instructions.

The following information must appear clearly on the statement:
          - Your name and billing address
          - The last 4 digits of the card number For your protection, make sure that only the last 4 digits are displayed.

We will check your statement and will respond within 24 hours. To protect your information, we limit access to your bank >account in a team of specialists. Our Customer Service team can confirm that we sent this email, but can not see your >statement or learn more about this problem.

We ask you to excuse us for the inconvenience.

We ask you not to open a new account because any new order you place may be delayed.

          Regards,

        • @JD6750:

          thanks for the info

        • @googolplex: Yeah it's weird some people got your email, some got mine and others got both. Maybe your one is asking you to upload directly to Amazon? Not too sure.

        • @googolplex: Just received same email as yours, but it was sent from Amazon UK and the card number it was requesting was not the one I was paying with.

        • @JD6750: Sounds kinda fishy… Definitely from Amazon?

        • +1

@chossenger: Yeah. This verification thing is so inconsistent I think it is a way for them to discourage people to order.

  • I got it also , asked for an account statement linked to a VISA card ending in a number I didn't even use

  • Haven't got that email yet, though I did just log in with my Amazon USA account..

  • I just got an email saying they believe my account was accessed by someone else so they've cancelled all my pending orders. I changed my password as they suggested and now it keeps saying my password is incorrect no matter what I use. Sigh….

    Dear Customer,

It appears that an unauthorized person may have had access to your account. To protect your information, we have:

    • Disabled the access password to your account.
    • Canceled any changes made by this person.
    • Canceled all pending orders.

You will need to reset your password when you return to our site. To reset your password, click on "Your Account" at the top of any page on Amazon.com. On the login page, click on the link «Forgot your password? To reach the help page with the password on Amazon.com.

After entering your e-mail or mobile number, you will receive an e-mail with a personalized link. Click on the link in this message and follow the instructions provided.

Your new password will take effect immediately.

    You will also need to:

    • Enter the full number of your credit card again on your next order.
    • Enter the addresses you recently added to your account again.
    • Check your subscriptions, if you have any. You may need to update them.

I had a logon issue earlier with the amazon.fr website, there was a message telling me my account was locked out and to check my email for instructions. Funny thing is, this happened after I received the email from Amazon France, and I was able to get into the website initially after reading the email.

I was able to fix my locked account by using Amazon US (amazon.com) to login then going back to amazon.fr

      • Thanks for the tip. I too tried the .FR one first, couldnt log in. Locked. But trying the US one, prompted me to submit statement with last 4-5 digits on. Heres hoping!!

      • No matter how many resets I try it says password is incorrect and I can no longer login through US or FR. Looks like following the reset procedure as opposed to just logging into the US Amazon completely screwed it.

Edit: After waiting a bit I managed to login. My 1080 order has been cancelled. Thanks Amazon.

      • Has anyone had any issues with not being able to login to either Amazon US, AU or FR? Keeps saying account is locked and to check email for instructions.

        • Yeah, I have this now. The instructions are to verify a card that I have added to my account but have never purchased with. So frustrating. Hopefully Amazon sort this out.

    • I got this too. And it says the statement must contain the last 4 digits of the credit card. I use 28degrees CC and the statement doesn't show the card number. Only the account number (which is not the same as the CC number embossed on the card). In fact I cannot find anywhere on the website that shows the last 4 digits of the CC at all.

Has anyone else used 28dgrees for this? If so, how do I get it to show the last 4 digits of the CC?

      • +2

My exact same problem with my citibank card. I dont know what they expect, its not normal to have the card number and account the same. I've requested citibank to send me an email confirming the card details. But the delivery address is different to my account address, this is pretty annoying

      • Check a transaction on your statement - it's there next to the date of transaction. Should be the last 4 digits and then transaction details.

        Layout on mine is;

Date of Transaction - Date Posted - Card No - Transaction Details - Charges (i.e. $$$)

        • For some reason the transaction didn't even appear in my transaction history but the available balanced is down $1.54, which I assume to be amazon.
Makes me wish I paid with a different card…

        • @trufflesthepenguin: Yep Amazon did a test/check/verify transaction of a small amount by the looks of it. It actually triggered the fraud detection on my card the next morning after ordering and I received a call from a 28degree rep asking if the transaction was legit.

        • @zuey:

Still haven't got the confirmation of payment but I got notified there was a pricing error. No compensation given or good will offer

    • Just got this email sent to me :(

    • Same email. I replied saying no it was me and that I still want the order. Long story short they said I'd have to reorder. So I'm not getting one. Hopefully some people get one but it's not looking likely.

    • I have received this email but I can log in to both the US and FR sites using my old password - they haven't locked it down at all!

If they were going to cancel it, I'd rather they'd be upfront and say it was a price error that would not be honoured instead of going through this crap. I don't think they received a deluge of orders from AU only, it seems that this was also posted to a popular UK bargain website too…

  • -8

damn hope they don't cancel my 7 orders :(

    • -1

i hope they cancel orders above 4 cards and honour the rest.

      • +8

Did you order exactly 4 by any chance?

        • No i ordered 1. I just thought saying anyone who ordered 'more than 1' sounded unreasonable. I think 4 sounds good.

  • Awesome deal OP. anyone know a good eGPU case to house one of these things?

  • Has anyone else got their account locked and recieved this email:

    "Dear Customer,

    Advice would be great.

    • I've received the same email. Currently smashing the refresh button on this page to see if anyone has figured this out proper. Bit hard when it seems people have received different emails.

      • I received same one, my statements don't have card number but I uploaded it anyway

        • Maybe I'll do the same and cross my fingers. Let me know how it goes, I'm waiting on citibank to email me confirmation that the card is linked to the account. I had to go to amazon US to get the upload form

    • Yep, got the same email.

  • Got the same email as a lot of people on here are getting.

What I did was log into regular US amazon, clicked on "Login & Security" under My account, and it'll ask you to upload a statement of the card you used to pay with to verify your identity. I uploaded the document, hit submit.

Brings me to a page that says they'll review the statement and update me in 24 hours

    • If you could let us know if they accept that it would be awesome Waiting on some documentation

    • +1

Thanks for the tip, but now my US Amazon account is also locked.

      • For me, it was the same account. So regardless, my Amazon account in general is locked (Australia included).

I only logged into US Amazon to do the whole uploading thing because I can't read the French…you can do the same via Amazon FR and I'm guessing it's the exact same process

        • +1

I wasn't able to upload documents on the FR page, only going to the US did it work, I was trying everything.

        • @trufflesthepenguin:

I uploaded to the US site and got an email from Amazon Fr saying they did not receive it.
So trying to upload to the Fr site, but cant for the life of me find where to upload.
keeps saying my account is locked down.

        • @blewinsohn: Same issue here with not having the option on Amazon.fr

        • @blewinsohn: uploaded it yesterday but got an email today saying it was a pricing error. No word about unlocking the account just yet

    • Bummer, I got the same email but it is not showing me that :(

  • lucky did not order

  • Same email too. Put together a document with my statement and a screenshot of online bank. Used ING debit card which number doesn't show on the statement so hopefully they accept my botched job. Probably the best way they could hold off all our orders until they decided what to do…

  • didn't get an email, but I've been using amazon from every different store for a while now so I'm hoping my account stays fine

    • did you ever have to confirm your card details?

    • I have not received the email yet and order is still valid.
I did have to re-verify my credit card number.

Will be interesting as that card is in a different name to the amazon account, but has been linked and used many times via aws.

I also used. 28degrees card where the card number is not on the statement.

A few dozen or so orders in a few hours would likely trigger a security event.

      Sorry Amazon you have been

      “ozbargained”

      • +1

Last 4 digits are on the 28 degrees statement next to each transaction.

    • Same here. No issue it seems

  • Interesting that they have made the product unavailable but not cancelled orders yet. Hopefully that's a good sign!

    • I'm optimistic as well, especially given that they're sending out those emails to verify some orders instead of outright canceling them.

  • If it helps anyone, I used this free PDF editor to block out other account numbers on my statement, so that only the last 4 digits remain: https://www.sejda.com/desktop

  • I got the "your account has been accessed, orders cancelled" email. Logged and nothing in orders and no option to confirm details via fax.

    • Same as me. Nothing in the orders for me as well - even under cancelled order and no option to confirm details unfortunately :(

Best of luck for everybody else but it looks like I'm out from this round!

  • Locked out of my account as well :/. I'm with Westpac and there is no statement option that shows my credit card number only my customer and account number. Worth a shot still I guess.

  • I’m with ING. Bank statement doesn’t show card number so I attached both a picture of my card with everything but last 4 digits and name blurred. Also attached statement with name and address.
    Hopefully this works

  • For those that had thier account locked and awaiting further cc verification. Just log-on your US Amazon account, upon logging-in you will be prompt to upload bank statement and other documents (up to 3 doc). I just upload the first page of my BS and took a screenshot of that $1 transaction from amazon. After you submitted your doc there will be another msg from amazon saying wait for 24 hours for verification. Done

For your peace of mind you can also change your password after that.

    • I never received the prompt at logon after going to the Amazon US website yesterday.

Do you have a link to the section of the website to upload documents?

Might try again later tonight to see if they'ce added the prompt

      • Sorry I dont have the link, what i can tell you is upon loggin-in you will be diverted to special verification page.

        • Thanks for clearing that up

My amazon account is still working and no email as yet. Also I have a small transaction from Amazon.fr on my credit card, which works out to be 1EU. Here's hoping the sale goes ahead!

Maybe it as simple as they have tried charging peoples credit cards and it didn't work for some reason?

Received a french email from Amazon advising my account has been locked out and to reset my password. Password reset done and logged back in but I can no longer see my order. Support confirmed that no orders has been placed either despite the fact that I have a conformation email when I initially ordered and saw it in my Amazon pending orders list on the website before the account was locked out.
What a weird way to cancel my order

    • Exact same thing happened to me, sad.

    • +3

New email from support confirmed order has been cancelled. They better give me the $1.57 they took from my card

      • Why would amazon.co.uk be sending you that email?

I can't see the order if I log in to amazon.co.uk or amazon.com, it only shows under the amazon.fr page.

        • The initial support person couldn't locate it so it probably got escalated. The order is now showing up on my account under cancelled

I haven't received any emails after the initial confirmation email. Amazon Fr orders page says 'Pending Delivery Date'. Anyone else is this situation?

    • Me too

      • Me three

  • I placed my order January 6th 2018 00:01 so I hope it will be confirmed. My status is also "we need more time", also on my bank history I have small transaction from Amazon.fr on my credit card for 1,05 PLN (Polish currency). So far all is ok, didn't get any email from Amazon regarding my payment method. I paid using Polish visa debit card in euro. Hope they will honor our orders.

given its just after midnight (weekend) - i'd say these orders will be on hold until they start work on Monday (about 8 hours) and decide how to handle it (cancel)

then we will all get one of these emails (pinched from Phew's link) a few hours after that.. (give it to tomorrow morning for all the emails to be sent)

"We were forced to withdraw this item from your selection for the sale of the latter to the wrong price would have resulted in a sale at a loss, which is prohibited by law.

    • So frustrating because of all this account and bank verification hassle lots of people had to deal with, especially if they just cancel orders. I can't access Amazon on any domain now.

      • all amazon domains working fine for me

  • Logged in now to .FR account after submitting my statement. Order is no longer in "Your Orders" :(

    Was fun while it lasted.

    • This happened to me last night, but if I got back to product page it says I ordered it on 6th January and has a link. When clicking on this link it asks me to login in again and states my account is still locked, so hopeful my order is still there somewhere

      • Thanks, I just received an email:

        • is the item back in your "Your Orders" as well? (or just account re enabled?)

        • @wisc: Ok now this is interesting. Earlier today (Before receiving the email above), I could login to Amazon.fr and clicking Your Orders, yields 0 results. But when following steps by @mooseca i.e. clicking on the URL the OP listed above, I can see that my Order is still there.

Now (after receiving the email) and clicking Your orders, I see it back in there. with a note:

To all those receiving the verification card email. Clearly this is an attempt to Cancel your order.

Here is my theory, as to why some people received those email.
    1. Your order is checked out and pay in USD/AUD to Euro, instead of purely in Euro via your Card provider.
    2. You pay in Euro but using the Amazon.fr currency conversion rate.

  • I got this email (translated by Microsoft)
    Your last Order on Amazon.fr
Hello, your customer account is accessible again and your order will be processed as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding of our security measures and we apologize for the delay in the processing of your order that they could have trained. Feel free to contact us for any other questions. Thank you for choosing Amazon.fr. Sincerely, Amazon.fr www.amazon.fr = = = = =

    • What did you send in? Was it just the bank statement without the card number matching?

      • It was bank statement showing Full Name, address, card number and a screenshot of Amazon's debit transaction. I placed the order on 06/01 9:32PM.

        • Thanks, my postal address on the statement is different to where I want it delivered… hope thats not an issue.

    • I got same email after sending my statement (contain last 4 digits, name and address as well). I placed my order on 06/01 5:42PM :)

  • amazon fr took 1.50 out of my account

  • My order seems to be going like normal so far only that they have to wait for stock to arrive.

They took $1.58 from my card, order shows on my Amazon account and have not received any weird emails.

  • Ordered 1 around 1-130am and my order is still there. Showing 'We received your order' and 'Pending delivery date'.
Paid with 28 Degrees cc without Amazon currency conversion. No strange emails about verifying but have been with Amazon for a while now (~since 2006?2008?) so have had several CC linked and probably did go through the same verification process at one stage.
$1.54 was debited yesterday from my cc by Amazon. Hope it's a good sign.
I'll update if my order gets process further or cancelled.
