  • correct me if i'm wrong, but there's no real incentive to buy from Amazon directly if it's at least $30 cheaper elsewhere

    • I couldn't find one that cheap. Best price I came up with was the Officeworks one posted by carlenet below, the same price as Amazon.

Incentives to buy from Amazon directly:

If you don't have an Officeworks close, or don't live in what Officeworks call Metro for delivery purposes, then OW add postage, whereas Amazon includes postage.

Amazon US customer service is great, no idea about Officeworks.

Exactly the same price @ Officeworks, which I'm rather sure is just their normal price, where Amazon had been charging more.

That's actually gone up! Before Christmas they were $154 at OW as just their regular price. No sale or anything.

      • I bought one for $154 @ Officeworks just before Christmas.

Same price at my local aus post too.

Somebody wake me when the first real Amazon AU bargain appears. I've still got the $20 voucher they gave me because they stiffed me on a bargain pressure cooker- not real- and no matter how hard I look I can't find a competitive price even with $20 off.

    • I totally agree with you, also have the $20 voucher sitting there.

    • I have $20 voucher from their babylove Wipes stuffup. Can’t find anything worthy either.

And here we thought Amazon would destroy aus retailers…

    • Hasn't lived up to the hype.

      • Exactly what I thought

    • Gerry can have his sigh of relief…

    I paid $154 before Christmas.

I paid 138.60 after 10% discount from goodguys ebay on boxing day sale..

I see most of the commenters here have exactly zero idea about Amazon and their willingness to play the long game. They don't care how the launch goes, they are just a steamroller, inexorably moving forward. From these comments, "long term" appears to be "what's for lunch" for a lot of people.
