FAQ

It's showing me higher AUD price than mentioned in the title
* Choose USD as your currency from top left hand corner. Don't select AUD, always choose to pay in USD, it will work out cheaper even after your credit card conversion fees. Also read the below.

How do I ensure I get the cheapest AUD price possible
* To avoid higher currency conversion rates and to get cheapest price from these Chinese websites, you should get a credit card that charges zero currency conversion fees. 28Degrees, Bankwest Zero, Coles Mastercard are generally popular. Irrespective of what credit card you use, always choose to pay in USD on these Chinese websites, (Choose "USD" from top left hand corner). Additionally set your Paypal so it "bills you in the currency on Seller's Invoice". To set your PayPal account this way permanently, follow the steps shown in these snapshots [Highly recommended]

    New stock of 200 pcs.

    Meh….just brodened 199 pieces

    • +2

So going on Gumtree soon? :p

      • +5

Yes and my name will be savas

  • any good compare to VIOFO?

    • Which 1?

    • +3

Personally I would choose the Viofo over this one purely because this cam has a Li-on battery instead of a super capacitor, not so good for hot Australian summer.

      • So that makes Fire Insurance is a MUST BUY.

    • IMHO, the quality on the Viofo A119S is much better than this. You get what you pay for.

On an unrelated topic, has anyone had any luck with getting Viofo to address the loose GPS connection from V1 to V2? I know the solution is to use the other miniUSB plug, but otherwise, what are they doing about it?

      • I have the V2 and have no issue with the GPS connection issue so i would say it's been fixed? I've been using it for about 5 months now and daily my car and seems to be still working.
        easy fix here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5xMxnA1hlw

        • Yeah, mine still disconnects every 15 or so seconds even though there is no movement or rocking between the GPS module and the camera. Yeah, the purpose of the V2 was to address this issue with the V1

        • @xreenberg:
Are you saying if you push it up with your finger like in the video there's no movement?
Maybe just put some tape just to make it's a tighter fit? I also have the V1 and first thing i did was put layers of duck tape on it and never had an issue since.

        • @bogak:
Yes, no movement. I packed the inside of the camera with thick tape as well, but it's obviously still not making a good enough connection.

        • @xreenberg: could always return it I guess though I never really cared about gps

      • +1

I Just bought the V2 version of it and it comes with eva foam pad that you stick between the camera module and the gps prong to reduce vibration and connection. I think this is the rectification that they have implemented.

        • Mine came with the same pads but had no instructions on what they were for. Found out online.

      • Never had a problem with the A119s V2 neither

For those who want to disable there speaker (this will be everyone, the sound will drive you nuts)….there is a single screw under the sticker, remove and prise the unit apart. Remove four additional case screws in each corner. Unplug the speaker (white clip).

I leave it so the voice reminds me everyday of where all my tech gear is made :)

      • +1

… and that we are cheap.

    • champion! thank you

    • mine doesnt even say anything now after the firmware update.
just has chimes on bootup haha…

    • You haven't peeled the plastic off the lens yet! ;P

  • +1

is this the one that accepts english voice commands or still only chinese ?

    • +1

Don't think any of them accept english. Maybe there will be an update one day.

      • +1

I get ads in Gmail about a kickstarter for this so it looks like an English version is coming soon. Whether this can be updated to English remains to be seen.

        Possibly coming soon

      • If an English version does come out, I think it will be much more expensive price.

As the XiaoFang CCTV camera, the Chinese version is under $20 where the English branded version with English firmware and voice is $100

Being for the Chinese market keeps it prices set low.

  • I might just get another one for the other car.
I'm quite happy with the one I bought recently. Haven't driven at night so can't gauge performance at night/low light conditions

  • +1

Does it have park mode (activate when there is movement when car is parked)?

    • +2

      No unfortunately.

      • +1

What's stopping you from hardwiring it to a Power Magic Pro (or similar) to supply power to continually record?

  • I bought this on last deal, very nice but I had a problem connecting with my iPhone for some unknown reason, then connected with my android no problem. Voice is still in Chinese, is any way to convert into English?

  • Pretty happy with my one of these from a last deal. Quality exceeds my expectations for the price!

  • Awesome deal, thanks got one!

Has anybody that's bought one of these previously worked out how to internally route the USB cable?

    • It all depends on the car. Sometimes you can stuff it in the roof gap and unclip the side plastic panels and feed it inside.

  • Purchased. I like the idea of it being more stealth without the big obnoxious screen hanging down in your face.

  • Would that little sticky patch work in the Aussie summer?

    • Yes it works fine, just make sure you don't use the anti-static film that comes with it, that film seems useless to me.

    • +3

On a side topic.. the sticky patch is very sticky, just make sure you get the right position before you stick it on your windshield.
I found it tough to pull out and re-adjust

      • I found it tough to pull out and re-adjust

        ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

        • That's what she said

        • +1

Yep, I kept tugging and it wouldn’t budge. What a position to be stuck in ;)

    • Thanks. bought 1.

    • Just the same as the E-tag stuff.

Its so hard to get off I broke the plastic clip :D

  • anyone have problems viewing the camera on android phone? its 'connected' through the wifi i can change settings, but it won't connect to the camera to view in realtime.

    • That's weird. Try formatting the MicroSD card to FAT32 using your PC and re-insert. Also ensure you are connected to the camera wifi (and not your home wifi).

      • +1

i can view the recorded files through the app so i don't think the card is the problem. im just unable to view in realtime e.g for adjusting the camera.
        yes using camera wifi

  • +1

Anyone from Penrith have one of these? Did it survive last week?

    • +2

Yes, i was trying to take it out of the car for the 47c but ended up leaving it in there as i couldn't undo the hinge.
Was in direct sunlight. No car fires… yet. To Be Continued

  • Does this keep recording when the car is off? Of not any suggestion? Thanks

    • Just hard-wire it to the car battery?

    • I'm thinking of connecting to a power bank (probably 20000 mAh) and the power bank would be connected to the cigarette port. this way, I can charge the powerband during engine running and all the other times, the camera will consume power from power bank. haven't experimented yet though. someone can comment on this

      • +4

i wouldn't leave a powerbank inside a hot car tbh.

  • For anyone wanting the English version.. There might be one releasing soon.
Best to wait if you can.

  • Anyone here know What do they really mean by 70 minutes here?

    • +1

      It's just a name

    • +1

      Brand.

    • +1

maybe 70 mins of recording without being plugged in? yeah some clarity would be nice.

      • +1

that's what I assumed. but, the manual says that the in-built battery is for saving the last video only and no further recording can be carried out. In this case, I was thinking to connect this to a power bank (20000 mAh) and looking somewhere for how long the power bank survive

        • +1

Power bank will be consumed up overnight if the camera is being operated constantly, the car will not be able to charge up the power bank over short trips and the longevity of the dash cam will diminish as you’re putting constant wear on the sensor. Not really worth the hassle unless you carry 2 x 20000mah power banks and swap them out to charge the other over a power point. Do you drive a lambo or something?

      • I guess each of the video files is around 200M for a minute. A 16G card was formatted to a 14G capacity storage, so it could contain 70 minutes video recording.

    • +1

The correct translation should be 70 mile (70Mai = 70Miles,not 70 mins),but it is just a brand name.

  • I think you need a microSD card (endurance model preferred) to make this work.

Just a heads up for everyone.

  • Still waiting for my A119s since 25th November from LITB and still in China. Zzzzzzzz
    Destination country : Australia
    2018-01-05 17:18
    SUZHOU (CN), Processed through facility

    • I think i bought the same deal like you do and my transaction was on 29th Nov and i have received it on the 4 Jan. I know, It's frustrating waiting for a very long time.

      • Deliveries are be done via bicycles or something.

    • I am also in same situation. Really frustating. Track order shows that order was in China till 31 Dec. All my orders from LITB were slow as snail. Not comfortable to order again.

  • +1

    Any better compare with G1W-CB?

I have a long mini USB cable but this one use micro USB.

    • Yeah like to know this too.

    • I've got a G1W-C and one of these. The build quality is much better on the Xiaomi and a lot more compact, it also comes with a 3.5m micro usb cable in the box. Haven't used it yet as my Mini0801 is still working fine. I bought the G1W-C as a backup as I didn't think the Mini0801 would last through Summer because it uses a battery but 4.5 years later still going strong.

      • 3.5m micro usb cable in the box.

How long is the cable came in the box? Is it long enough to run around the edge of the car?

        • ive got a golf and it runs from the windshield above the door trims down to the rearboot cigarette 12v

        • The cable that comes in the box with the Xiaomi is 3.5 METRES long. It's long enough to run around the edge so the cable isn't visible.

  • got mine last week from them, great product and video quality is sufficient.
the only thing I dont like is the product seems to be more orientated to left hand side driving.
for us here, because the indicator light on the DVR is facing to the left, you can't really see if it's recording/not recording.

    • I have the same issue, so I have to rely on the voice remind…
And also I have trained everyone in my car to say 'wo yao pai zhao', it listens to the instruction very well even in a noisy environment. Amazing

      • is there a link to the 'voice' commands in mandarin?

  • wasn't it US $27 with the same coupon in last post in Dec 14th. LITB please bring back old price

Use Coupon code XIAOMI70DEAL001 or XIAOMI70DEAL002 to get this special price of $27.00 USD

I received the $9 dashcam from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/350318 a couple of days ago and surprise surprise it's crap and the video is definitely not 1080p as stated so no way of reading number plates etc. Not sure whether to buy one of these or pay a bit extra and get one with a capacitor.

  • Does anyone know if these have an optional suction mount instead of adhesive?

    • i was looking at buying a gopro type mount…
just never got around to it…
      the adhesive is strong…
would be hard to take off

  • does it save the video properly when it run out of battery? I got a cheap banggood camera, everytime it runs out of battery the last video file got corrupted.

  • +1

If I buy two of these and connect to front and back of the car, can these two be connected/sycn'd or had to be used as separate devices?

    • +1

They will be separate devices, can't be sync'd.

  • Bought one thanks

  • +1

Thanks OP bought one for $36.05 with 28degrees card

  • How easy or hard is it to take it off the windscreen, if required?

    • I found it tough. I didn't apply much pressure when I stuck onto the windscreen. When I wanted to pull it out to adjust it slightly (it was off center because of the camera position), I wasn't able to. The hinge connecting the camera to the adhesive part seems somewhat fragile, so left it as it is.

Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage.

    seems expired now :(

  • Does it come with a car cigarette charger to USB adapter? The USB ports still have power after engine is off.

    • it does…

depends on the car if the cigarette lighter is powered when the car isnt running/key not turned.

  • Anything similar with park mode?

  • Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage. :(

    • New code available now XIAOMI70DEAL008 (thanks BrodenIT) with a further US $0.30 off.
