Deal ends midnight on 25 Jan 18.

  • Seems a little better spec than the Lenovo V330.
    What are other people thoughts?

    • Seems like a good notebook for the price….
Doesnt come with backlit keyboard as default though.

      • Been trying all week to get the backlit included, but no go with every staff member I've spoken too. Damn!

    • As well as the backlit keyboard…
The V330 (I assume you are looking at TA's deal?) has one soldered RAM, so will always have one 4GB RAM slot, and there is no room for a second harddrive.
The E480 has two RAM slots for upgrade and can have a second harddrive (2.5") to seriously boost storage space.
The AMD 550 graphics card (E480) is apparently better than the AMD 530 (V330) too.

The E480 with these specs was also ~$1205 last night, but that was upgrading the i5 deal to an i7.

  • woaah whats the difference between the new X1 2018 and this besides GPU daam. IM SO TEMPTED got my card out and shiit.

    • I've never owned an X1 but I heard they were comparable to the Dell XPS. From my experience with the XPS, you won't miss out on much if you got a Thinkpad. The most noticeable difference would be weight, finish, build quality, aesthetics and thickness (and maybe display) with the X1/XPS winning out on all those categories. Of course the price accounts for those differences. If I needed a new laptop, this is an instabuy.

      • Specs is ok, but it's cheap because it's cheaply made and heavy….

Starting at 1.75kg = no buy.

        Personally I don't want any laptop > 1.3kg for 14" or less.

        • Valid points. I do agree the Thinkpads suffer some quality control/design issues recently. For the price, however, I think it's worth it. Can't really find a laptop that matches these specs that is light with a similar price tag (IMHO).

  • Don't forget CashRewards 5% too! DEALS is listed on their website.

Still no reviews posted for this model or the E580 that I can find. I'll wait to see some more information (e.g. battery life, cooling performance, build quality, etc.) before dropping a grand.

  • I literally just bought this 2 days ago for 1300. You guys reckon Lenovo could match the current price?

  • ahhh would have gotten a backlit keyboard at the same price if i waited a bit longer :')

    • What do you mean? How could you get the backlit for the same price? This is non-backit.

Was referring to TA's deal at $1149
You have the option of adding a backlit keyboard for an extra $50 for this specific model ( 1092$ + 50$ works out to be 1142$ )
so I was just whinging that i would have gotten the extra backlit keyboard if I hadn't succumbed to my temptations with TA's deal.
        Sorry for my whinging :')
