  • F-Yeah!

…now when does it come out? :D and would you mind letting us know when the catalog runs till?

  • +1

    I bet it's another misprint.

    • +16

Not a misprint. Too bad this is just a dream.

      • +1

        I like what u did there :)

        • +1

  • Sweet jesus. Nice find

    • +10

I think it's a bit overrated, but is pretty well done cinematically. Good price though.

      • +1

I would have loved to see the face of the special effects director when s/he read the script at the bit where it says "The city of Paris begins to fold back upon itself".

    • +1

Oops accidentally voted _ your comment :P Anyways this film is one of those rare brilliant ones which leave you either deep in thought and blown away, or confused and clueless at the end of it.

For most other people I believe it is the former :)

  • +6

Nice price. Now if only I can understand this movie.

    • +42

I'm pretty sure its about an undercover cop who infiltrates an underworld subculture of Los Angeles street racers looking to bust a hijacking ring, and soon begins to question his loyalties when his new street racing friends become the prime suspects.

      • -2

Doh, I thought he takes the red donut & finds out all the racing is really happening in a virtual reality…set up by evil machines in the future to enslave humans for electrical power! :p

  • Anyone know what the 4 discs are for?
Is it 2 blurays (movie + extras) and 2 DVDs (movie + extras)?

  • Movie Blu-ray, extras Blu-ray, Movie DVD, digital copy DVD.

  • -1

In the pic it looks like digital copy is 20 and blu ray is 25

  • hopefully jb beats it. i got a $30 JB gift card gotta spend it by the 10th lol.

  • Wooooooooooooooot! been waiting for this since the theatrical release back in August!!!

  • +8

Maybe it's 1 movie disc, plus 3 other discs to explain the plot? hehehe

  • +8

lol am i missing something? the movie isn't that hard to understand/follow….

    mmm… nice price..

    • Nah, you didn't miss anything…entertaining enough movie; and as stated, particularly well shot; but not the groundbreaking mindf@®k some pundits would have you believe! ;)

  • There is an ad on TV for this multipack - they show it as 2x blu-ray discs, 1x DVD disc, and 1x digital copy disc. Cover art confirms this 4 disc theory - http://images.allinteractive.com.au/slicks/3.83546.jpg

Wholesale cost for this pack is $38.57 inc GST, so for $25 its a bargain! Might be a misprint though - would be interested to see what Big W does, as they'll usually undercut everyone else on day of release (they've the DVD version for $19.72 in their latest catalogue).

  • im just looking for the best price bluray copy and hopefully JB will do it. This voucher has got to be spent and nothing else appeals to me at the moment, got everything I need.

  • Is this catalogue being delivered Australia wide?

  • Wow, that is extremely cheap, even cheaper than both amazon sites, and this also has the benefit of no waiting for shipping + no region problems :)

    • No, it's $18 on Amazon US.

      • Well we don't live in the US, shipping to Australia costs $5.98 which makes it USD$23.97, after converting to AUD and adding bank transaction fees, should be around $25… Don't forget shipping times :P

        • Yeah. It would only be worth it if you're ordering with other stuff.

    • +2

      Hire it.

      • -4

You want me to hire it? Are you saying that someone who prefers things that are believable would like it?

Or are you just being a sadist?

        • +4

Stick to the documentary section then.

Those of us with imaginations will attempt to devour the rest of the worlds "art" without your assistance.

        • +2

Hey, just wondering, do you hate it when you dream? Since dreams are pretty unbelievable, at least in my experience lol

On the subject of dreams, I found this movie enjoyable not so much for its storyline, but seeing how the writer has created a framework the storyline has to operate in, and how the mechanics of that framework interlaces that storyline.

I guess in retrospect, it was also pretty suspenseful. Wish they'd given us a definitive ending though, though I'm sure others will disagree.

        • -4

          illusionarybreeze,

you won't be surprised to learn that I don't dream much (not ones that I remember anyway).

Actually, perhaps I am dreaming at the moment. I am dreaming that some clowns are negging me on OzBargain! :)

        • +6

The thing is, it's not a fantasy film - it's sci-fiction/action. So really, it's something that may be non-fiction one day, you know? Do you wait for it to be proved by science first before you can enjoy it? Personally I think life would be a little boring without any imagination outside the bounds of the reality that we see everyday.

        • +2

          sadist

    • +2

I betcha this guy don't watch any movie at all :)

      • -1

you've lost your bet then :)

        • +2

dude, its your life you do what you want, but I dont get where your comparing this to lord of the rings or harry potter. I havent seen it before (just watched the trailer myself) seems more like vanilla sky..

maybe you just dont like leonardo dicaprio movies? lol

        • infernal_max, I wasn't directly comparing it to HP or LOTR, just that they all fall into a fantasy type genre.

    • +5

You just watched the trailer. rofl.

    • +1

Terrible comparison. You should be comparing it to Dark City and The Matrix. If you like those you will enjoy this movie and should hire it. If you didn't like them then steer clear of it.

  • +7

c'mon… take a chance.. allow the experience to access your mind.. it is an intriguing concept.. :)

    • I actually will hire this damn movie now :)

      • +3

Dude if fantasy genre is too much for you then seriously STAY away from this film!

It will literally twist your mind but only if you can follow it ALL the way through, you look away for minute and you are going to get lost.

        • +1

I'm not a fantasy fan, but I liked this.
It was quite good the second time too, when I fully understood it.
There's nothing really fantasy about it, it's more just a thriller movie with an concept.

Does this really count as a bargain? Target prices all their new release movies (Blu-rays and DVDs) around this figure for the first week, then bumps them up after that. Also, they often don't have them on release day for some crazy reason.

    • I wasn't aware of that. Nor that this was being released. Isn't letting people know about things like this this the entire point of this website?

      • I was just asking a question: As it is standard practice for Target to put new movies out cheap, is it still a bargain when Target puts a new movie out… cheap? I just though most users of this website would be aware of that practice. And doesn't my post raise awareness then anyway? Didn't mean any offence.

        • +2

I've never seen this practice you speak of. Usually all new release movies are over the $30 mark for bluray copies.

So yes, this does count as a bargain.

        • I work across from Target and I see it with every big new release. For example, Eclipse was released last week and was $17.88 on DVD and $25.XX on Blu-ray. Big W and JB had it for the same price. Unless this is just a QLD thing, or even just a South-East QLD thing.

        • They generally put out newly released (popular) blu rays for $29.00 generally. Then the price jumps. $25 for this will probably be the cheapest you'll find this unless Big W or JB decide to undercut.

  • +1

wish the digital copy was in a usb stick. :D

    • +2

Yep, in the shape of a totem (e.g. a spinning top or a chess piece)

      • +1

why cant a usb stick be a totem? stick some lead on it.

    • What is this "digital copy"? Googling … it appears to be an utterly worthless gimmick.
Or propaganda to try to make people accept DRM, when an MKV is so much better.

      http://blogs.computerworld.com/digital_copy_a_feature_thats_…
      http://www.afterdawn.com/news/article.cfm/2009/11/18/review_…

$25 would be the normal price for Amazon UK. Target, you get the inconvenience of having to go to some horrid shopping mall, but the warm feeling that some of your money went to pay for our roads, schools, and ministerial cocktail parties.

      • +5

What a fail of a comment

        • +1

specific criticisms are preferred to pointless insults. Perhaps you missed the «tongue-in-cheek» tag?

      • +3

Are you kidding? I'd prefer to walk in, walk out of a shop, rather than wait a week+ or so for something i've ordered.

Having said that, I buy a fair share of blu ray crap etc overseas as it is ALOT cheaper there. I also partake in the sales we occasionally have here, where blu rays are pretty much @ rock bottom pricing.

        • +3

Manic, no insult, just the truth, but if you want me to explain why that comment of yours qualifies as a fail, I'm more than happy to oblige:)

      • +1

For 25 bucks, you get a bluray, a dvd and a "digital copy". If you are really concerned about DRM, there is always the bluray and dvd to ahemm make your own digital copy.

Also the DRM is linked to your itunes account, and you can transfer your itunes library. Its not as easy as copy and paste, but its still doable.

Make no mistake DRM is a pain, but do you seriously expect it to be anything else?

  • Ooo cheap, gonna grab this. :D

  • +1
    • Says there is a bonus map exclusive to BIGW included.

  • +3

Yes, without Pricematch. The lady behind the counter said they are matching Target !!

    • +1

Why didn't you wait for tomorrows sale?

  • is this without the pricematch?

I will be going to JB tomorrow night and an extra 20% off that would be excellent!

    • JB Hifi's having a 20% off tomorrow night?

  • I got mine today from Target!!! 4 Discs!!!

    • Could of saved $5.
