  I found the T3 to be plenty fast for me (YMMV) and 500gb SSD for $200 is a deal. The encryption software is a bit finicky if you move between lots of different PCs but it was fine for just one. I even used it to help when upgrading an m.2 SSD in another PC.

    Minor differences i reckon, as t5 uses 3.1 USB spec while t3 uses 3.0 spec.
    Both with transfer speeds of 400-560mbs
