What is the difference between this and cheap VR headset and Google dream?

    • Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Proximity Sensor.

I am wondering if it'd work with my HTC10. Meh! Can do without it.

  • Does this work with the s8+
    Thanks

    • I read online that it looks like compatible with both S8 and with S8+ (a tight fit) but i am not 100% sure..
Found this forum where users talked about it .

    • Note that the Gear VR does not support phones that are not locked to a network. Oculus have this disclaimer burried in their website. It may still work but it's common for them to develop a bug where the phone no longer recognises the headset.

    Super AMOLED display

Isn't that a bit deceptive? Seeing as, well, it's dependent on the phone you put in there having that?

    • yeah.. JB Hifi mentioned it on their page..
This should be the correct statement "The Gear VR paired with a Super AMOLED display makes viewing feel like stepping into a beautiful new world." :)

  • Not bad

  • Compatible devices doesn't list it, so I'm assuming this won't work with the Note 8?

  • Will this work with pixel 2?

  • Is this the same with that vr sold from telstra ebat for 25 bucks?

PRAWNS? I would have expected octopus recipes

  • Thanks OP, got one. Had a bit of fun with a cheap headset from GB but it was very hit and miss for lining the view up. Hopefully this is much better.

  • Tempting, are there any deals on the VR controller?

  • Model RM-325 is for the Galaxy Note 8. Still using my old Gear VR headset that came bundled with the S7.

Just ordered a Steelseries Stratus XL gamepad for it and NeXtVR is a must have app if you like or want to try watching sports in VR.

  • Personally I'd recommend daydream over this, you aren't locked to a samsung that way. The gear vr software is plagued by issues that oculus can't fix (or they don't want to fix) rendering the headset and the purchase apps useless.
