    How is that subwoofer as a low cost option for replacing the subs attached to my current Sony 7.2 speaker system (attached to 65" plasma) which have stopped working?

      No, not an option. You will be disappointed, guaranteed. The Volls are compact, low powered 'musical' Subs designed to complement & assist the Voll Bookshelf speakers with their low end while keeping clarity in check. Your Sonys are big, powerful yet dumb Subs to make impressive boom noises during movies and help annoy the neighbours when playing party music up loud. Apples & Oranges. Both have their pros & cons but should never be used for each others application.

    Update: they have increased the base price (from 159 to 166), discounted price is now 149.4 shipped. Still better than JB HI-FI (199)
