Nespresso Compatible Capsules $35 for 150 + $15 Shipping @ Capsule Genies

40

Hi guys long time lurker first time poster here.

Bought 150 Nespresso compatible capsules (5 different strength mix) for $35 (original price: $40).

Been having them for around a week and are pretty good

They roast their beans and package them at blacktown so if you live near there, a frequent coffee drinker or need to supply lots of coffee, I would highly recommend (not sure if they do deliveries as I had picked up from them).

If you want to test before committing to buy 150 or only want one strength, they have 10 capsule packs and 150 capsules of the same strength.

They have their address and contact details here:

  • 2 months sure is "long"

    • the time when I had created my account doesn't reflect how long I've been looking around ozbargin…

Probably the owner. Company isn't even registered for GST, they are probably flogging off 5 of these a week.

        • Please don't make accusations of new members. It isn't very welcoming. Please use the report link in future.

  • Postage is $15 for the 150 packs which is a bit much in my opinion.

    • Same price for shipping two of the 150 packs, which makes it more reasonable.
Considering how much I spend on Nespresso, I'm willing to give a couple of packs a shot.

  • Dont these non genuine pods ruin/are not very effective ??

    • No. I often use the L'Or compatible pods from Coles/WW when on special - perfectly fine in both the extraction/flavour/fit in the machine.

The L'Or pods are almost identical to the Nespresso pods. They are metallic and similarly shaped.

These pods are the generic plastic ones with tin foil lids.

The plastic doesn't pierce as well, and the foil tends to rip apart leaving grounds and bits of tin foil in your machine / cup.

I would highly recommend the L'Or ones (I have trialed these in four different machines - Prodigo, Lattisima, Citiz, Essenza), especially given they are regularly $4 for 10 capsules in Coles / Woolworths. However, I would not recommend any of the plastic ones i have tried (Vittoria, Podista, Lavazza, Grinders, Caffe Aurora, Cafe Royal, Coles, Perfetto, etc).

In saying this though, everyone is entitled to make their own choice, and others may experience different results.

    • I wouldn't say they ruin it, but with the newer Nespresso machines some 3rd-party branded capsules don't fit properly and sometimes even get stuck in the machine.

      • Even the genuine Nespresso pods sometimes get caught and needs a slight tap for it to drop into the collection bin.
