The ultimate Ozbargain Australia Day deal!
You won't get more Aussie than a Farnesy 'Whispering Jack' box set and this one is a ripper, on limited edition white vinyl plus CD and live DVD. Currently $99 at JB and $124.99 at Sanity, this price is due to it being on sale for $75, then an additional Australia Day 30% off, bringing it down to what is essentially half price. Shipping is around $13 depending on your location. The alternative is to listen to Cory Bernadi's Spotify playlist for free, but a real Aussie would pull the trigger on this deal. For those that want to get even more Aussie, the 30% off also applies to other Australian vinyl including Darryl Braithwaite, Ratcat, Tina Arena and You Am I.

    Ah the memories…..

"Braithwaite was nominated for ARIA Award for Best Male Artist at the ARIA Music Awards of 1991 for Rise, but lost to Chain Reaction by John Farnham". That's equally hilarious and embarrassing. Farnesy, Barnesy, Johnny Diesel…. thank god that era is over and 'Go farther in lightness' is seen as a great album these days. Hi Fi Way is a classic.

“John Farnham Whispering Jack White” thought this was a collaboration with Jack White (White Stripes)

Or an album of Jack White songs whispered by John Farnham. I would buy that.

Can use the same code to get the Midnight Oil complete vinyl boxset for about $330 (depending on shipping) from The Music Vault.

    • Ahh, more memories.."How can we sleep while our guts are churning….."

  • At least he's not coming out of retirement again for a finale tour because he ran out of money.

  • The current retro vinyl thing is hilarious, when CDs came out it was like a miracle, the clarity, the longevity and convenience. Go to the OP shop and buy whispering jack for $3.

    • Yup, it was like "Get rid of your LP's, they're rubbish. You must have CD's, they're the best thing since sliced bread."

Luckily, I kept mine (& my record deck, etc.,).

      • You have said "Luckily" but you aren't giving us any reasons why you are holding on to them. I was more than happy to trade in "hiss", skipped tracks, stylus replacement and turning over the record to play side B for clarity and convenience.

    • I saw a kid about 15 last week, in a 70s punk-inspired outfit, with a new vinyl copy of "Never Mind the Bollocks" carried for all to see.

      I was amused.

People purchased vinyl back in the day as it was an experience, believe it or not. You got the big case with cover art, more on the back and inside as it opened up. Lyrics too. People like that experience. Each to their own. Now you get nothing tangible if purchasing online.

  • Argh! Just nooo-owo-owo-o-woah!

This made me think he did a collaboration with Jack White and I was so confused for a second.
