  • Hmm, do i wait for the pro 3 or 5w or get this?

Also never bought from LitB. How are they compared to Gearbest etc?

    • Do you have any idea when the new models come out?
I haven't been able to find any info yet.

  • I bought this one along with the bugs 2w both are great drones!

    • Which one would you recommend?

      • +1

Bugs 2w has more features to make flying easier especially for beginners
Bugs 3 is more of a race drone.
Personally I'd recommend the Bugs 3 it's super fun to fly (and it can do flips!). It has a lot more power and speed than the 2w and you can attach your own action cam to it later on if you wish to do so.
Don't get me wrong Bugs 2w is still a great drone and has a lot more features than the Bugs 3 (altitude hold, GPS, FPV to name a few).
At this price you can't go wrong with the Bugs 3!

  • I think I'm finally going to get my first drone, I've researched before and this drone is apparently good. The only thing is, when I went to LightintheBox to buy it, they had a bunch of other drones that looked good too and were even cheaper. What do you recommend?

All I care about is getting the best video footage of the ground, so I want a camera platform drone, not a sports model to just fly around. I have a Sony action cam which I was going to use with the Bugs 3. Will it come with a mount for Sony or would I have to buy that extra, and how much would that cost?

Should I go ahead with the Bugs 3 or should I get one of their other drones instead, some of which have built in 1080p cameras, and are half the price of this one, like the one I've linked below:
    https://www.lightinthebox.com/drone-mjx-b3-4ch-6-axis-2-4g-r…

Looking for some advice! Are features like GPS, altitude hold and one click return must-haves? Because I don't think the Bugs 3 has them. If there is another drone for a similar price that is easier to fly and get good video (or use my Sony), I'd like to know.

    • Go the bugs 3. If you were to compare two, the 3 is like the Ferrari and the two is like the kiitted out Magna with all the safety features. Fun vs safety always wins.

      • Thanks, I've been researching some more as well, and that camera on the cheaper models is no good.

So now I'm down to either the Bugs 3 with my Sony, or wait and save for a DJI Phantom 3, which I've also been considering (nice models like the Mavic etc are out of my price range). My main concern with the Bugs 3 is: a) it won't be as stable as the Phantom - I mostly want to hover still and get good video of aerial views, not try and video while I fly around, and b) that I won't be able to get first person view or live view with the Bugs like you can with the Phantom, so I won't know when flying if my camera is pointed correctly.

What do you think about those issues?

The Sony action cam says it can only stream live view for a relatively short distance, so I guess it won't work while flying up in the air. So I guess live feed is not workable.

I'm also wondering can the Bugs 3 remote be used to tilt an attached action cam, or is it just fixed the whole flight?

One nice thing about the Phantom which I've seen being used, is that you can see the live feed right in your mounted smartphone, and you can adjust the angle of the camera during the flight. I'm thinking that's kind of essential to be able to do. It seems like that's not going to be possible with the Bugs 3 unless I buy their FPV add-on, which I haven't read up on yet.

        • Sounds like bugs isn’t for you unfortunately. Bugs3 is all about having fun, but you can still whack a camera on it and get some good results. I guess it’s all about how much you want to spend and whether you just want to care about the visuals.

        • @bennybaubles: OK, after thinking about it overnight I've decided to get it since my son and I will go in together and he just wants to fly around, and I'll try it out as a camera platform. So between us it should be enough for some fun.

Next problem… I want to check before buying that it comes with all the accessories such as spare blades and blade guards, fixed gimbal, etc. Their page says nothing about those being included, whereas another site like Gearbest lists all those accessories as being included.

After searching their entire site I can't find any place to contact customer service! It's bizarre. You can contact after placing an order, but no way to contact them beforehand.

So does anyone know if these accessories will come for sure in the box, and does anyone know if this LightintheBox seller is even reputable enough to buy from? No contact details is pretty poor. I found an online site that had recorded many complaints from its customers, but that is probably fairly typical of any big online store selling many thousands of items. Has anyone here had problems with these guys before?

        • @Biggles266: yes the accessories come with it in the box. You can buy extra blades etc when you buy it. It’s probably best to grab extra blades cos you are gonna crash it. It comes with a holder for the camera but not a gimbal as this is quite expensive. It’s not a learners drone. If you need to learn maybe grab a small goolrc t6 first or grab both at once.

        • @bennybaubles: OK, despite some misgivings about the reliability of LightintheBox and their customer service, I went ahead just before the sale finished. Looking forward to learning to fly it with my son, we've got a big empty green space very close to home, so that will be a good place to use it. Thanks for your help.

        • @Biggles266: No worries enjoy. The bigger the park the better. When I first learnt I still came into trouble when learning which way the drone was facing. That was in a massive park..Its easy to lose control and lose it if you don’t know what you are doing. If all else fails yell biggles to base I’m lost 😀

        • @Biggles266:
Shipping time terrible. Don't believe their estimates. When eventually shipped, it is tracked and packaged well.
          Accessories list:
          4 x Spare Blade
          4 x Protection Frame
          4 x Landing Skid
          1 x Screwdriver
          1 x Charger
          1 x Propeller fixing mount
1 x Camera mount (not gimbal, its a static mount)
          1 x Manual

  • Very pleased with my bugs 3, very uneasy with the new drone no fly zone for drones over 100g rules though.

Newcastle Westpac helicopter landing pad at the hospital screws it up for the entire city.

  • Which one is better ? MJX Bugs 3 or VISUO XS809HW

    [VISUO XS809HW] (https://www.lightinthebox.com/drone-xs809w-4-channel-6-axis-…)

  • Looks like the free tracked shipping is finished, unless I'm doing something wrong in the ordering process
