  • MS Offers 2 year warranty on these. I wonder whether that carries across to these units sold by Dell.

Can't really get into paying $1000 for 4 gigs of ram with no upgrades in 2018

    • Bloody chrome eats 4-5 GB RAM by itself when opening a few tabs , 4GB models exist to only have a lower starting from price

Surface pros with win 10 at idle already consumes 1.5gb out of the 4gb

At $1000 you're probably better off going with one of the frequently posted Lenovo deals with latest generation CPU + 256GB + 8GB. Unless you really want the higher resolution screen here.

Even this Dell that was recently posted appears to be a far better deal.

this seems like a pretty bad rip-off, the CPU is old and slow, let along the pitiful ram. Many better alternatives for the money.

Tried to grab an Alienware 17 $1800 this morning, missed out.

    Tried 15, $1800 missed out.

Tried Gamibg 7000 with 1060, $1300 missed out.

There's a dedicated group buying these and reselling them on Ebay, or their 2nd hand stores.

      • Broden's at it again.

~$1270 for the latest model would be worth the extra ~$180 in my opinion. Can get it for almost around the same price if using discounted gift gards at JB etc.

I still think that deal is better: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/357486
Later i5 Gen, bigger ssd, bigger ram, comes with keyboard and pen, and $300 less.
    And it's brand new.

    • Nope, didn't see it just ran across them myself.

I agree the Acer deal is better for many people.

  • Lol not exactly making me rush out and buy it.
$1089 can get you so much more elsewhere…

  • Found this on the listing earlier; worth it?

    • If you like that, maybe consider the smaller version: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/356678
Similar spec as you said, but less than 1 grand.

      • Thank you. :) It's the 15" and QHD screen that drew me to that deal and seems to include a 512GB m2 SSD contained within a 2kg laptop. Just trying to see if anyone has this laptop and/or can advise if its worthwhile at the price point.

        • Have you checked the xps range? It's more expensive but it's more premium.

That Page has less items I think because they runs out quickly

  • MS price is $1,499

You serious? I'd have expected that price to be for SP (newest model).
