      Because the thief that breaks into your house might have half a brain to turn off your electricity in which case you want your Yi Outdoor camera to be screaming it's face off regardless of mains power so that the thief can run away without stealing anything before you call 000 and give them to the cops on a silver platter.

        How is the app with the Yi outdoor camera? Is it in Chinese like the Xiaomi one? Does it record on to its over server similar to Xiaomi?

        To be honest have been looking for a good outdoor wireless camera and maybe this is what I should be look at! Any info much apprecaited!

          The Yi app is far superior to the Mi app for cameras. I can't believe how disappointing the Mi 360 camera is, huge waste of money.

          Yi cameras are great, only downside is that they are good quality, so if your internet isn't fast you can't smoothly video call over the internet even if you are using the low quality option. However at home on wifi it's extremely smooth on max quality.

          Can't comment on the outdoor camera as mine are still in the post, however the Yi Home camera 2 is amazing for the price.

          @ohsotight: Oh that's right, the Yi app is also completely in English. Once you make a choice in US or EU plug, stick to it. Otherwise you have to keep logging in/out too change servers to look at different cameras. They don't let you add them to all servers.

          For the powerbank to phone, I just use an adapter myself with the existing short Micro USB cable that it comes with, or use a longer USB-C cable.

          Looking at USB-Type-C-Cable product category tag, that 0.3m combo deal Clear posted would be ideal but seems that coupon is ended.

          Couldn't find anything else sorry.

    Given Xiaomi isnt officially sold in Australia (to the best of my knowledge) what value is it in having "Australian Stock" over ordering from the likes of Gearbest etc ? Quicker delivery times?

      Mainly quicker delivery, you also don't need to worry about power banks not making it through customs which has been a problem from time to time buying from overseas. You should have better warranty protection in the case of a faulty item purchasing Australian stock from Australian retailer, although not a big deal for a fairly reliable and low value item like this.
