    Great drones, good price.

+1 from me even though I have 30 in my living room.

    • You must be my brother?

      • They are small, lightweight and get destroyed by the pets. Getting spare parts is a pain in the a@@ so ordered a few spares.

Plenty of batteries; can fly all day with what I have.

        • How’s the quality of the MicroSD slot? And overall durability? I read from somebody in another thread that the slot wasn’t of great quality and he had to use a tweezer or dig out the card?

        • @Shuey:
I had to pull mine part to retrieve the SD. It seems originally it wasn’t screwed properly. No issues since i rehoused it

        • @Shuey: Haven't had a problem with mine. The card pushes in, and then pushes in again to pop out. When it's inserted it sticks out of the body by about 2mm, so no need for tweezers etc. It does sit close to the body though, so you have to be careful.

      • He's big brother.
30 drones watchin your every move

        • Drones cant watch anyone with their shitty cameras.

          Is that you? Broden?

        • +4

          @BrodenIt: wooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
when are you having a drone party?

        • @klownvandamn:
He just confirmed my doubts :P

        • +1

@BrodenIt: I think Broden was just a breeze through; but he taught us well.

        • but why tho

        • Why you have a lot? Care to sell it cheaper to me?

        • +1

@Exley: Cause they were so cheap and the pets destroy them. I go through a drone a week +/- at this rate, ill need more in 6months.

We have a few dogs in the house, if they find one; they rip them apart (cause they are the flying bats they are chasing in the park).

        • +1

@televisi: Sorry, won't resell things here. Though you might have luck in the forums if someone bought too many in clear's recent deal?

        • Bow down to the master

        • What in the actual (profanity)?

        • +1

@MorriJ: it's your money and it's your right to blow it however you want, but i hope we both know how impractical it is that you're buying drones every week only for them to be torn up by your dogs right? well, i guess if you're single with no kids no wife only dogs then this is sustainable

        • +1

@Exley: Think of the potential. Happen to live near a lovely institution called Her Majesty's Australian Prison Long Bay.

Do you know how much cigarettes are worth on the inside? And eneloops? I buy a carton of cigarettes a week, a few hundred enelooop - if I lose a drone or two and I am still making an absolute killing!

These little things arent the fastest but carry a good packet of cigarettes.

        • +1

@Exley: Yeah, for that price he could have gotten a Spark or Mavic, and a drone bag to store it in so the dogs don't get it.

  • Any good for a newbie to drone flying?

    • +3

Yes. Well worth it. Windy days, you will struggle and until you get the hang of orientation, but it will be great.

They take an absolute knock. Like ABSOLUTE knock. Dogs are happy to grab them out of the air and chew them - they still fly.

For what <$50AUD - well worth learning on.

Get some spare batteries - they last about 10m fly time, though if windy, looking 5-6min.

      • +2

$crew spare batteries. Get spare drones like this guy but just not 30 spare ones lol

      • Cheers! Got one!

        • They are simple to setup, come with a clear insutrction manual in english.

Power the device on, press down, up, down on the remote (i think thats it), it pairs and away you go. WIFI setup is easy as well. All in the manuals.

Only recommendation I do have, if it is not hovering stable, adjust the trim. There is a procedure for it, but do it with little wind otherwise wont work.

Plenty of youtube videos out there - I'll answer anything not covered in the videos :).

        • @MorriJ: Thanks for your advice! I did have one very similar or maybe exactly the same as this

          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2MP-HD-Camera-drone-JD509-FPV-2-…

Was a bit disappointed with it though. Although this one is only $40 but who knows!

        • +1

Let us know how you go with it and how it compares to the other one. Any issues, shoot me a PM and I'll help where I can of course :).

The one you've linked I couldnt find a great deal of specs on; i think it would be comparable to the V1 of this drone. The V2 (the one you just bought) wins hands down over the v1 revision which didnt have a horizontal stabilizer.

        • Legend. Thanks again!

      • Hey champ how do I do the wifi antenna mod and how does it benefit me? Cheers

        • Want to control it for up to 1KM away in good weather?

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmcBSmKvpNE

        • @MorriJ:

Is there any camera upgrade to improve quality of video recording? If it only had a better camera or mod it woukd be an awesome budget drone.

        • @MorriJ: The simplest upgrade is to purchase a action camera such as the SJCAM M20. That camera weighs 55kgs which the Visuo can lift. I have heard of weight of around up to 80 grams being lifted but this impacts performance and places increased wear on the motors. There are smaller micro camera's that weigh around 30grams. I went with the M20 as it has display and WiFi (although limited range) and can be used as a general action cam.

        • @bathuu: There are two antennas, the controller uses 2.4GHz analog and the FPV uses 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. If you prefer to use the controller you could install cloverleaf antenna's in the controller and the quadcopter. The simplest way of extending the FPV Wi-Fi is to use a Wi-Fi Extender such as the one from Xiaomi and relocate the WiFi antenna in the quadcopter so that it protrudes the case.

The best antenna mod I have seen is from blitz80 posted here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2891595-Visuo… however I suspect the use of dipole's is not the best choice for the controller.

I'm a little confused on the model to be honest. In the LITB link, there is a comment which version is it?

The REP says XS809H but they shippe d me the XS809H-W-HD-G

Has two blank buttons on the remote (card model has photo/video buttons) - you need ot use the app to record video or take photo, no buttons.

    • Same here, got one in the last special, XS809HW, has the slot for the uSD but the two buttons on the remote are unmarked.

Confusing as one diagram on the page shows blank buttons but further down show them as photo/video buttons.

      • Only the C model (Card only, no wifi) will have the buttons that trigger photo / video and have the two respective pictures
The WIFI model, have to use the app to record or photgraph and have the blank buttons

They use the images of both remotes interchangably, but only the lower end model (card only, no wifi), has the two active buttons.

The buttons on our model seem to adjust the leds on the drone.

      • As far as I can tell the 2 unmarked buttons do nothing on this model. The photo/video functionality is handled by the app. on your phone/tablet.

    flying spam.. reported.. :P

  • .. just in case you’ve didn’t see the message I posted a little earlier. Any comments on the quality (issues encountered) of the MicroSD slot? Cheers!

  • Bought this today for $54 at gearbest. Shattered.

    • I wonder if GB will beat LITB price, even nominally :) I'm down for one or 3 if so…..

    • Cancel the order. If it hassnt shipped. You get free cancel.

      • I cant find a option to cancel, do I need to raise a ticket?

        • Is the status packed? I get a cancel order button on the ones not yet packed. I think you might have to raise a support request if it is packed. Your mileage will vary of course.

        • @MorriJ:

          Yeh its packed sigh.

        • @t_c: Damn :(. Sorry, was worth a try.

Good news, even @ that price they are a good drone, I don't think you will regret the purchase.

  • dunno why but I ordered 1

    FYI 213 remain @9:50PM AEST

  • +1

I was looking at that drone last week, I was close to buy it with a pack of 3 batttery and 2MP video for something around 45AUD I think… Can't find it back.
But then what about that one? Is it just spare parts or what https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/292181726180?var=591248105480 18AUD!!

    • I reckon it's just a battery since it says 1X battery?

    • Description says:

      Package Included:
      1 x VISUO XS809HW RC Quadcopter
      1 x 3.7V 900MAH Battery
      1 x USB Cable
      4 x Propeller
      1 x User Manual
      1 x Transmitter
      1 x Screwdriver

      • How/why r they selling this so cheap?

        • +2

Its just for one battery, confirmed with seller.

  • Is the remote range 100m? What happens if it goes out of range? Can it detect range limit and fly home?

    • No GPS, so it can't fly back to your location.

    • Range is about 50m. If it goes out of range it lands itself wherever it is, but does not return home.

      • Pity thing about these cheap drones are very short control range. So do the antenna mod with wifi extender before actually flying them to prevent loosing it. Once it is out of range you have no control of it and it will fly away to god knows where.

  • i enjoyed mine for a solid 5 days until my brother accidentally flew it too high and the wind took it off somewhere in the tall trees behind my neighbours house… great beginner drone but light as hell. :(

    • Yeah, anything but a slight breeze and it drifts (but that seems to be the case with most of these light non-GPS units).

  • +1

Literally just lost mine in someone's backyard. Talk about timing 😂

  • Love this drone, so much fun for a quick fly. Have more fun with this than my bugs 3

  • This will kickstart my stalking career.

  • So just got my drone from the last special and am wondering is it possible to connect to the drone via the app but also use the controller? Can’t seem to get them both to work together

    • I find I have to connect the remote first (throttle up/down), then connect the app. (on your phone/tablet). Doing it the other way around seems to disable the remote.

      • Cool thanks for that. Do you always have to connect remote first (throttle up/down) when using the drone or will it automatically connect to the remote?

  • Does it have to have a wifi connection to work?

    • -1

The drone IS the wifi. You connect to it (on your phone/tablet) just like any other network.

      • Your can use the controller without needing WiFi.

        • Okay thanks.

  • How does something like this compare with the JJRC Elfie+ ?

Not sure whether to grab Something like this or just wait until the Bugs 3 Pro is available and spend a bit more for a step up.

  • Bought me first drone :)

  • Price just went up….like $2 for those that missed out lol

    • Thanks for letting me know. I've updated the title!

      • +1

I grabbed one before the big $2 spike after the lightning sale ended - thanks OP.

Updated USD pricing in title needs updated AUD conversion too. Cheers.

        • I'm doing this now. Falling asleep at the same time :(

  • +1

shipping showing up as an additional $13.70 for me now.

  • The shipping is extra 13.7$ (the cheapest option) for me :(
Postal Service with No Tracking is grayed out..

  • Can you attach a GoPro to this or are you stuck with the built in camera?

    • +1

I viewed a video of a cheapie drone trying to lift go-pro . It was not a success.
Then they tried with another camera (lighter in weight) and the drone lifted but could hear motor struggling/burning-out .
So I would think its a pretty safe bet that this (or any cheapie drone) will NOT lift a go pro well, if at all.

      • +1

I think this one can lift about 100 gms (but it struggles).

      • +3

With these cheapie drone, you probably wouldn't want to risk on putting any GoPro (which cost much ore than the drone itself) on them.. haha

        • Haha alright, cheers lads. I probably won't be getting it then :(

        • +1

          True, lol.
Maybe he wants cheapie drone to steal someones expensives gopro ? (Just joking)

    • Try an SJCAM M20. Mine is in order.

  • Hi, is this drone good to fly around the beach area or is it too weak against the wind? Any good in lifting 30g stuffs? What is the range? Any suggestion for budget drone for surf fishing? Thanks.

    • It will struggle in any wind and will reduce your flight time as well. This one can lift about 100gm, but it struggles. Its' range is about 50m.

  • Only DJI I want to buy

    • 1 DJI Spark or 15+ of these … haha

  • i got one of this, arrived with a faulty battery. cant power up the drone and wont charged as well. once received try charging your battery and see if it charged.

  • To anyone that may have issues with the app and getting the camera to work, if you're on android, I found a solution!

When you connect to the drone wifi, there will be a notification saying something along the lines of "this network does not have an internet connection".

Tap that notification, tap "stay connected anyway" and your camera will now work.

Took me a while to figure that one out!

  • Any thoughts on the quality of video?
720p sounds pretty good but 2.0MP camera sounds pretty bad.
