Sorry I can’t comment on the ones you listed, but I purchased one of these the other week for my 8 hour work from home days https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/radar-plus…
At $249 (or $236 through their eBay store with 5% code) I think it’s pretty good. Much better lumbar support than most of the chairs that I went and sat on in store. Would definitely recommend going to a store and trying them all. 5 year warranty too.

      • Thanks, I'll have a look

    • Secretlab chairs aren't worth the money imo. They are ok chairs but not for 500.
I believe in terms of office chairs i always try to get second hand for the high quality ones as i don't see how it is worth paying $700 on a single chair

    • I'm in the same boat currently. Have been using a Swopper for a while, but currently am at my desk a lot more and need something more supportive. Was tempted by the Omega 2018 but apparently the PU leather doesn't last long or breathe very well. So then I was looking at the Omega Napa, which is $1000 which seems too expensive for something I can't try. So now I'm back at considering the HM Aeron or Mirra2.

    • Have you looked at the Ergohuman? I had a sit in one at an office furniture place on the Gold Coast and it felt great. I'm contemplating getting one…

      • yeah, the Ergohuman looks nice, but just like the HMs, it's beyond my budget and they hardly go on sale,
and when they do go on sale (slim discounts too) is in ebay or some random store (with some chances of being clone)

    • DXRacer F was on sale at Futu for 300$ but that's sold out today. Omega is quite nice too but wait for their discount

  • Arm-rests on this are a bit useless, unless you are tiny, as they are very low and not adjustable.

I got this chair last year. It isnt bad for $50. I like how far back it tilts.

I am not so fond of the arm rest so I took it off.

      pewdiepie, is that you?

  • Terrible chair. After a few months the cushion was so flat you could feel the screens and bolts through it. Also chairs are not worth the hassle

  • Bought this last year maybe the year before. It has semi regular use (about 3-4 days a week) with an approx. 80 kg person. It has worn well. The arms are optional and have been removed.

  • +1

Threw mine out in less than 2 months.

Cushion was rubbish and no matter how tight the bolts were the base kept sliding and squeaking.

Spend the money and get something decent.

    • +2

if you bought it from aldi you could have returned it?

  • +3

Have one and can say well worth the price, has outlasted most of the budget chairs I purchased from Officeworks in the past.

    • +1

      Agreed.

Was hoping this chair had a mesh base.
Fabric base is a deal breaker for me. Need something that breathes.

Any recommendations for a fully mesh chair that isnt Herman Miller :(

    • You must release a lot of gas lol

      • I just like my butt to be well ventilated xD

    • I bought a "Marquee Steel Sling Chair" from Bunnings for my desk: $17.90.

I wanted mesh for summertime so that the back was breatheable

Good points: Weatherproof (so can go hose it down if it gets dirty), high back, armrests aren't the catchy type that pull cabled things off desk, cheap, doesn't look too bad

Potentially bad points: No castors (so no moving), no swivel, no reclining back, no in-built height adjustment (doesn't worry me but you could sit on a cushion if you need to be higher. Then again, no risk of this either)

Had this chair and threw it out within 6 months because of the flat cushion, I guess you get what you pay for.

Anyone has any recommendation for a good office chair budget ~$200?

    • Stretch it to $250 and the Ikea Markus is good.

I've had this chair since the sale last year, it's still going strong, no issues with the cushion or anything, i generally work from home 1 day a week so it see's a bit of use.

My main criticism, I also bought the desk that Aldi had on sale at that time, the chair's lowest setting isn't low enough to not have your thighs touching the underside of the table.

Overall a good cheap chair though, if they have the table on sale at the same time just avoid, it's poor quality (draws are very stiff) and very narrow, struggle to fit my monitor + keyboard without overhang off the back.

    • Quick question, do you know if the armrests on the chair can be removed? I use a writing desk that unfortunately rules out any chairs with armrests.

      • +1

Yep, I removed the arms on mine, when assembling, just leave out the attaching the arms step :)

unfortunately I realised this AFTER assembling the whole thing, had to go back to step 1 haha

        • Brilliant! Thanks for letting me know!

  • Just put it in the nursery next to your bargain couch/rocking chair hybrid thing

  • Thanks might get one!

  • +1

These sure beat those $1000 chairs anytime especially the price!

  • Maximum 120kg =(

    • better shred that extra clothing you are wearing..

  • I have this chair and use it every day. It's pretty comfortable and I don't have any problems with the cushioning. The only odd thing about it is there's some play in the seat mechanism, so the seat can rock back and forth a few degrees despite being locked into place.

  • +1

Sounds good - going to jump on this when it arrives.

  • Might be worth a try if still available saturday afternoon. There are 2 aldi's nearby so I'm hoping there'll be a good chance they'll be around

  • Got one of these last year, very good for the price. Obviously you'd get more comfort from a more expensive chair but for $50 I'd say its worth it when the only real issues is that the mesh/fabric can be a bit irritating after a while and the seat space can be a bit smaller than you'd hope

  • For $50, you can't beat it. The cushion is quite thin but it hasn't sagged despite one year of heavy use. You may find some screws aren't right size but a quick run to Bunnings will sort it out.

  • There was a time that these weren't getting posted here and they weren't selling well and a few weeks later they were going on sale for $19.99
Still have mine, not that comfy but considering the price they are ok

  • My experience of buying and using office chairs for many years - get the best you can afford. A $50 chair is not going to last long.

My opinion for the best bang/buck office chair is the Ikea Markus. About $250 (although sometimes on sale) but worth it. I have 3 at home now.

  • I bought this last time. What a nightmare of non-comfort. Recently left on curb "free to a good home" and updated to a mid-priced Office Works chair.

My view: It is not worth it even if free.

    • How long did you keep it before you didn't like it

      • It was apparent the first time I sat on it for 30mins it was not comfy. After a week, it was clear it had to go but my stubbornness to get use out of it kept me in it for about 3 months.

  • Bought 1. It was already displayed at Guildford(NSW) Aldi. There were 2 left when I left today.
The chair is not very comfortable at all.
I guess you get what you paid for.

  • Would this chair be suitable for kids to do their homework? 7 and 9 years old.

Nothing special about these. Typical Aldi crap.

    • No one said special mate. It is cheap. Let me know if you find a similar chair for $50

    • +1

Invalid neg, you're about to be deleted 😀

  • Thanks everyone. Was considering getting several for my boarders (students), but since the general consensus is they aren't worth it I shan't now be wasting my money. Cheers!

  • How would it compare to this chair from Kmart?

    http://www.kmart.com.au/product/mesh-office-chair/1654805

    • Had a laugh at the Kmart one, thin cheap and instantly uncomfortable chair…I would rather sit on a spike.

  • Thx for posting…ideal for daughter…would never have found it before they all flew out the door!

  • Got this chair yesterday. It is good but the lumber support is uncomfortable no matter how I adjust it..
Might need to go back to my old chair, no lumber brick stuck in my back but full support back!

  • I bought it. Worth the money and little bit more.

  • Do you have to disassemble to return?

  • Is this deal still running? the link just takes me to the aldi special buys page
