  • Some good titles, but I've got two of the four, and my beloved OLED Vita loses all battery charge overnight… I put in a new battery and still happens, so I reckon it's a glitch a bloody firmware update introduced. I might do a factory reboot and see what happens. Anyone had a similar issue.

Even when completely off - not in sleep mode - the battery drains within 12-24 hours.

    • …then the new battery is defective….or of extremely low charge in which case you should have bought genuine sony brand battery instead of an off brand cheaper one….

Should last a few days before going flat….assuming it's turned off and not on sleep; if on sleep usually about a day or so…

      • It's showing the exact same behaviour as the genuine battery. The discharge rate is too similar and the original went from being find to being stuffed very quickly.

Could be a poor replacement battery (although wasn't the cheapest - and looks very very similar to the OEM with its markings) but little reticent to fork out big bucks and have the same happen again. I reckon there's something else underlying… don't even know if Sony still sells them.

    Not an amazing deal really.

Killzone has dipped for 7.48 and been on regular sales, in addition to being a Plus game a while back.

Ratchet and Clank Trilogy has dipped as low as 11.95, and this site seems to be physical copies (at least on MC) so you'd miss out on the free PS3 cross buy versions of each game too.
    https://psprices.com/region-au/game/21741/the-ratchet-and-cl…

Borderlands 2 has been as low as 14.95 as well.
    https://psprices.com/region-au/game/20835/borderlandsr2

Minecraft is the only one that's never had a sale, but even still, at 19.75,
    https://psprices.com/region-au/game/20646/minecraft-playstat…

The grand total for these becomes $53.67 and you could have bought them ages ago at that total, meaning in waiting this long and BUYING IN BULK, you're saving just over two dollars, AND missing out on the Ratchet PS3 cross buy versions potentially.

Now let's really get into shit though, and do the cheapest you could do

Killzone has been on Plus before, so straight up, that game is now free for the list.
Ratchet and Clank at 11.95 W/ the cross buy versions means we're half way and down to 12 bucks.
Borderlands adds another 15, so now we're at 27.
And Minecraft could have been got for free if you had a save from the disc version of the PS3 version on your machine back when the PS4 and Vita versions dropped (years ago now) and they allowed to you pay a small upgrade fee to the PS4 version, but they completely (profanity) it up and it could be got entirely for free.

Meaning if you, like me, were a proper OzBaraginer, not only would you have all of these games, but you'd have them for just over half the price these guys want YEARS LATER for games on an old, dead, platform.

If the deal was 40 odd, it would be alright. If the deal was 30 odd, it would be (profanity) spectacular. At 50 though, it's four games on a dead platform that can be got for less with no real effort.

You quote free items that aren't attainable atm, your sorta having abit of a stroke there.

Just like forever you disappoint me Duke… :(

      • I listed the deals these games regularly go for, and links to a site that tracks how often they're on sale and gives updates for when they're next on sale too.

The bit at the bottom was how much I personally got the lot for, just anecdotal really. If I really wanted, I'd say my copy of Borderlands is actually free too, since it's the missus' old copy.

Also Duke Forever was decent enough, if it didn't have 15 years wait behind it, people wouldn't have been so harsh.

        • It was decent enough but it misses the charm of the old-school versions…

Also the multiplayer didn't do it for me.

        • @Slippery Fish: Oh yeah, definitely. It's so clear at times when it's straight up copying other games. The whole bit with the Duke ute was deadset like playing a Halo skin mod.

The MP I played a little bit of, and it didn't grab me either. Mind you, I'm 21, I was inside my mother while Duke was making his way inside other people's mothers, I never had the old school MP seshes a lot of people have such fond memories of.

I think Duke honestly works best (now) as a parody of shooters and their tropes. If you look at Duke Forever as a parody of the modern shooter, it still isn't amazing, but it's a lot better.

        • @TheDukeOfNukem: next year when they release (or late this year) the N64 mini buy it if it has Duke Nukem 64. Lol we literally had punchups about that game lol, I'd beat up my brother's friend who was 4 years older than me rofl…

Got so bad dad hid the game and no one has seen it since lol, theory's are it's in the roof of the old qlder covered in Rockwool blown insulation lol

        • @Slippery Fish: That's some good shit right there man. I only got my first console in 2004 when I was 8, slim PS2. I've since got into retro stuff, as you obviously would, and Duke 64 is one of the best shooters of that generation I've played. The explosion effects, the cool new weapons and exclusive levels, it's so good on the 64, sucks that there's no titties, but oh well, that's what the internet's for.
