      Shacket

  • Doesn't look that warm. Maybe for a Brisbane winter :)

    • I bought one here in Tasmania and its summer here, about 22 deg, i put it on and was heating up in mins… be too hot for Brisbane winter ;)

So it works great when it's 22C ;)

      • Does it have side pockets? doesn't seemed like it on the pictures.

        • Nope I wouldn't wear it at 22 deg c, I only tried it on briefly to see if it fits.
Has two front pockets, pretty deep, could fit a smart phone or wallet easy, plus a more hidden inside pocket - which Kathmandu says for passport etc. Also the "shacket" has buttons at the front instead of zipper….

        • @marctas:

          thanks mate

  • Are these available in store?
I'm 182cm tall and 55kg light. Not sure which size would fit.

    • I'm 181cm, over 100kg lol and the XXL just fits..

    • And yeah available in some stores or they can order it in so you don't have to pay delivery $10

    • I am 70kg 183, wear small for all my Kathmandu's coats.

    • I'm 80kg 179cm, i wear the M size

  • No I had it on for a very brief time today, because its way too hot for our tassie summer , which is almost a Brisbane winter during the day . I had a sim jacket years ago and yeah found it too hot for Brisbane winter. I have lived in Qld most of my life. This shacket will suit Tassie weather nicely ;)

    • Which jacket?

      • I only tried on the "Kathmandu Shacket", (but if you mean the other Jacket i had - was a European brand - bought it whilst travelling in Europe).

  • It's all relative to what your used to I guess. ;)

  • I'd love to buy this then only be able to wear one day a year

  • Doesn't seemed to have any side pockets?

  • They do look like great jackets, I just don't want to look like every other Aussie punter that wears Kathmandu gear. It's like "spot the Aussie" when skiing in Japan.

Kathmandu has shops in aust, nz and uk, so wouldn’t be just Aussies, but i suspect about 90 percent of people who wear them are Taswegians lol very popular here and awesome for those cold wet Tassie winters, (it snowed recently in parts of Tassie - summer time)… Guess if you really want to stand out, you can always knit your own ;)

Walked instore to try sizes - med was a snug fit but I was recommended to err on larger side (thermals, shirts, etc). Still a pretty damn good fit.

Bought the Surmount jacket. Cheers for the deal OP.
