SALE

First time poster.

The Hisense 55N7 has now dropped to below $1000 for the first time since December that I can see on Ozbargain. Not as cheap as the $907.25 Bing Lee deal in December, but better than the $1195 being asked for at many other stores. The TV is a catalogue special for $1095, and until 7am Tuesday 6th February 2018 you can use the code SALE to get another 10% off for a final total of $985.50.

Other TVs are also work with the 10% off SALE code, including the Hisense 50N7 as well as other brands.

Edit - you can also try and pricematch the TV for $900 using Hirokuro's reciept here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/7m8nsnc30rw3d5b/20180204_215623.jp…

Edit 2 - Some Hisense 55N7 owners have reported some issues with their settings not saving and other issues. Hisense release a firmware upgrade a few days ago which has reportadly fixed some of these issues. Apparently there are improvements to 4K resolution as well. There's a thread on whirlpool about it here - http://whrl.pl/Re5rVV

    • I wouldn't have thought so, it's pretty big. I've got a Skoda Roomster which is huge in the back and I still had to fold all the seats down and put it in through the boot. Certainly don't think it would have fit along the seats sideways.

      • Thank you.

        • I just drove it home in an i30 hatchback through the boot with the seats down, but had to jam it in - so possible with a smaller car if the seats flatten!

    • I got this TV a few months ago, I used a 2007 Honda Civic sedan, surprisingly it fit really well (1-2 inches of space left). I had to put the back seats down. hope this helps. Great TV btw

      • That's awsome. Thanks.

    • Strap to roof or in need, bikies.

  • Is hisense preferred over samsung now?

    • Hisense is basically the best of the budget TV brands. I wouldn't say it's preferred over samsung, LG etc etc. But it may be better value.

Anyone successfully price matched the $900 receipt at JB's? I have lots of vouchers burning a hole in my wallet…

    • I would like to know that as well.

      • Me too!

Ended up using SALE on a discontinued Samsung 55" KS8000. Final price $1141 after 10% code & expected Cash Rewards. Great picture, prefer it over the N7 which we bought a few months ago.

    • Where are you located? On the web site it says It’s not available?? I want one too!

      • +1

Was available yesterday, but yeah looks like unavailable now. :(.

    • Snaffled yourself a real bargain there, KS8000 is a great TV. Was very pleased to pay $1500 for it at xmas 2016.

      • $1500 in 2016 is a better bargain I reckon.

  • Got my 55N7 today, FTA looks crap as expected, but what's with the HDMI? Works for a bit off my android tv box but seeking kills it. Black screen with "weak or no signal". Unplug, plug, signal detected, then back to no signal. Tried several ports and cables. Plug in a PS3, same thing. Powercycle the tv and both work again.

A quick google didn't return anything relevant so I wonder if anyone here has had similar issues. Could be a firmware thing, only just got it so will need to do more research tomorrow.

    Thanks

    • Try another HDMI cable.

      • Yeah, it seems to behave better now but the TV seems to hate my cheapo S905 based media player regardless of cable. Another issue that I'm having is getting my soundbar to work with it. Weird and different results from different devices with both ARC and optical, be it very quiet centre (dialogue really low) while music and effects are full blast, or using SPDIF it sounds like it's downmixed to stereo, or missing centre altogether with setting output to RAW on the TV. Will need to look into it more tomorrow and establish a baseline what works and where it goes wrong.

Other than that it's a great unit for the price, wouldn't go back to the "old" 40" Samsung, even though the soundbar worked perfectly with it, no issues whatsoever from any media source (with cheapo HDMI cables).
