Pizza Hut bringing back All-You-Can-Eat buffets.

The last time I had Pizza Hut buffet in Perth was the 90's, it cost like $7 on a weeknight. Some places you would have to order a pizza after finishing one, others had a bain-marie. Back then I could polish off a family pizza, thick pan by myself, now not even a large classic crust.

Now its back…..I may just go for the fun of it.

Unfortunately doesn't give an inidcation on pricing but I'd suspect between $10 - $15 / pp.

But what I REALLY want is the return of all you can eat KFC, that was da shiz.

  • I went to the one in NSW and it was over $20pp. this article from 2016 says it was $20.90 which sounds about right.

tbh it was kind of disappointing, and if i'd had my time again, i would have just got takeaway.

    • Cheers….didn't even know Eastern states had it already. Sweet.

      $21 though…hmmm…not really worth it.

      I'll try it once.

      • some memories are better left as just that.

        My main frustrations:

        • The plates were basically saucers, could only hold one slice. The cups were a little bigger than a shot glass. Meaning you had to make consistent trips to get food
        • They were really slow bringing pizza out. Really slow
        • The desert section looked pretty nasty/processed. (i'm sure this was the same when we were kids)
      • compared to the prices of sizzler I'd be willing to give Pizza Hut a shot

      No thanks

For $20 you could get a decent "gourmet" (I hate that word) pizza from a real pizza place…and still struggle to finish it

I have been going to The Works buffet at the Pizza Hut in Kirra Qld whenever I went back to Queensland to visit my folks. Also went to Pizza Hut in Toowoomba last December, which also have The Works. Price has been between $9.95 to $12.95 pp.

      • Sounds a bit cheap to me. I'm 95% sure i paid over $20 for myself. (NSW Orange)

Without looking up my credit card statement from a while back, i'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

      • If they roll out the buffet stores with the same pricing scotty mentioned it would be great

        • Those are lunch time price though, and no soda drink (only a jar of water). I've been going to that Kirra store for the last 10-15 years (see my little review here). Usually $12.95 but for a period of time with Shop-a-docket the adult price is $9.95. I don't think that Pizza Hut store is doing any promo with Shop-a-docket anymore though. Kids (under 12) is also $9.95 but with a cup of soft drinks.

I don't think that kind of pricing is going to survive if in Sydney or Melbourne.

        • @scotty:

Oh i see… did u at least get the jar of water on the house?

        • @Triton: Yup water is free like in any restaurant.

        • @scotty:

Did you take an empty Voss bottle so you can fill up for free?

        • @scotty:

Oh cool .. didn't know that

  • The customers in the picture look um, well fed.

I can't eat that much anymore so it wouldn't be worth it for me.

  • What foods are available in the buffet?

This store in Marsden Park sounds like something I need to go to.

  • I wonder if this will really work today or if everyone's riding the nostalgia train

    • +2

      I'm riding the all-you-can-eat express.

  • They never left. The ones that still exist are horrible. You get better quality pizza by actually ordering Pizza Hut.

I used to love the Carbonara and pasta but the desert bar was fun, what with trying to make giant softserve ice creams

  • +2

Yeah it's not really befitting an OzBargainer at the new prices. Without the pizza hut shaped building and 80s decor I don't think I'll even get that nostalgic feeling.

In Sydney you can even get all-you-can-eat pizza for $20 at Pizza Autentico. But they don't give much in terms of toppings and technically you eat whatever comes out until you're kicked out. And 90% off the population doesn't eat more than a pizza anyway…

  • This is awesome, absolutely love their artificial cabonara, there's just nothing that can replicate the taste.

Looking at the article pictures, I'm speculating it's more a A la carte style buffet. Looking forward to it.

  • Reading the reviews and watching the 7News video, it's total crap.
So many people left disappointed. I think I'd go to one of the original all you can eats that are still around over this.

  • Anyone that been to the marsden park buffet know are drinks included or are they charged extra

  • The last time I went to one was when I was in primary school with those Scholastic $2 coupons.

  • The problem with this is that in order to take advantage of it you have to eat Pizza Hut pizza.

  • Pass, if it's anything like I remember it from decades ago.

Most of the pizzas they brought out were the cheapest on the menu, very rarely the better ones, and kids would run around picking up pieces with their booger-covered fingers and dropping them again.

Always remember the TV ads of the day - "You're always welcome at Pizza Hut" - showing a family at a fine dining restaurant with snooty waiters turning up their noses at the kids, and another at a Maccas-style place with the unimpressed parents losing their burger fillings on to the table. I remember wondering how many adults thought the Hut was any better than the Scottish place…

I remember the reading challenge in primary school where you'd get a mini-pizza from Pizza Hut after reading a set of books for school.
