    Ze Pickle on the gold coast is great.

      Their prices are a bit too high, but the burgers are pretty flavoursome. Go to Easy Street Diner over Ze Pickle though if you are in the area. Way better burgers and better priced too. Never been back to Ze Pickle after discovering Easy Street.

    This eatclub thing is promising but confusing. In an article by the founders, they said they wanted to stop people just getting food delivered and get them back into restaurants.
    But then, you can get food dine-in or takeaway. If you'll let people get take away, why not just let them get it delivered?

      It's to stop people grabbing 100 of the offers and sending one person to pickup and feed their dog…. people would do it if's free.

      you actually nominate how many of the offers you want, mine were not limited to 1 per person, it asked how many people, went with a friend so I reserved 2.

      I used some of the offers in Melbourne when they had free burgers. I think part of the idea was by going in you actually see what the place is like, allows the service staff to engage and get the vibe and hopefully go back again when it's not free. I've gotten lots of % discount offers from the same places and they deliver (20% off, 30% off) , but the free ones were dine in only.

      Delivered burgers don't really allow you to see how good the product compared to hot off the grill, onto a plate and on your table.

      All the free offers I had (3 different ones) were for dine in only, so had a beer to go with the burger.

      One place I would definitely go back to, the other 2 were ok but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

        no, mine you booked, you had a place and redeemed between a certain time …. this removed the people in line and runs at for last people, this way you know you will get a burger ….

      they release the offers at a certain time and as people grab them the count goes down, you grab them, so you can get some for your friends, and store them on out phone, and then redeem later, the ones I used the owners get notified that you will be redeeming and at what time you will come in, so they can plan work load.

      It's actually a good system.

          When I went in, they know who you are by the redeemed coupon (name) (so you grab the offer , store it, then decide when you want to redeem it), not different to booking a table at a restaurant and owners know who will turn up and approx. when rather than 100 offers issued, but only 50 people redeemed and you don't want all 50 at the same time, especially for dine in only as tables might be limited, as well as the griddle capacity to cook burgers.

          you can place the eateries in the favourites and receive notification of offers … which is what I did … phone beeped when they released the offer of free burgers, offers were there, grabbed 2 and it was all done.

          removed from favourites later as I started getting offers every few days, not for free but 30% off.

    The app or server is failing.

    The transaction went through after a long time out but no confirmation was given unless you went to your deals. It says 1 burger per person throughout the promotion (how I knew).

    I was able to get the deal for the free burger at the Small bar. However, when I went to the store they told me they sold out. What's the point of using the app then? Total waste of time and lack of respect to the promotion and the customer.

          for the ones in Melbourne, they had a list of names from people who redeemed, had to show on my phone, and if you weren't on the list, no burger, so issues about sold out ….. they shouldn't have given free burgers to people who didn't follow the process.

      Seems like there's no talk between the app and the store. So they don't or don't appear to know if someone has redeemed it.

        They could at least ask to show the App screen with the deal obtained. That way, only the people that acquired it could actually get the free burger. Either way, it's pretty annoying the way it was handled.

        I recommend going to get the burger as soon as you get the deal then. I booked for 12:40pm, so you should go before that.

      People appear to be screenshotting the deals and sending them around. Maybe they got caught out and didnt check. Chur Burger checked.

        Hmmm, good point. Anyway, that is a flaw that should have been considered and fixed. The way I see it, this guys only offered 50 burgers. Giving one more wouldn't have hurt them.

      Happened to me as well. Got there at 12:45 (time booked through app) and they said they were sold out.

      Complete disrespect to the customer. I was in a party of 4 and I was the only one with a coupon. We went somewhere else instead.

      Reviewed on facebook and will never go there again.

      Just to follow up, I used the Contact Us page in the App and had a few emails with the support team who promptly offered me to get the free burger tomorrow. So, at least they are fast making up for the mistake.

    I scored a burger and told my chubby mate he could have it. We went to collect it together but as there was a big crowd outside waiting, I gave him my phone and said i'll see you later. He came back to work about an hour later with a face like a dropped pie. He said he waited ages and said the burger was average, nothing special.
    I thought you whinging b@stard. Really there's no pleasing some people.

      I was hoping Chur was good and I just got unlucky with the free burger at the AWS Conference. It tasted like a simple homemade burger from my childhood. Which isn't really a good thing.

      Ze Pickle was good but I guess you'd expect that at steakhouse prices.

    I haven't made a real, x% off order yet to know how it really works but it seems the offers in general are very vulnerable to hacking. Anyone can make 5 fake accounts and make most deals fully redeemed without a single person showing up.

    I think they'll introduce more stringent verification in the future, which may add some friction to the user experience.
