Anyone who's ever done any sort of camping and made the transition from blow-up mattress to self inflating mat will tell you the difference is night and day. Only thing really to be aware of is these are considerably more bulky, so I may recommend checking out in store if you're unsure.

  Be warned that these are bloody heavy compared to an original Thermarest.

  Definitely not for any sort of hiking/backpacking. I guess that's why they are so cheap.

  Ask to pack one away in the store before spending your money. Takes two people. Not fun in the rain or mud. Couldn't wait to get rid of mine. Although it was comfortable but hot in summer.
