    For about $220 more there's the Nokia 8 which has Snapdragon 835 4GB RAM

    • +7

      so for more than double?

    • Wow! Where did you find a Nokia 8 for that price? They're 499.99 at QD before discount

      • +3

        @AirMartino Less than double. You need to learn Quick Maffs. Member MathNerd can help you.

        @jkpha5 here it is https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/360877

        • @sky blu, spend a bit more and you can get the oneplus 5t.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/360549

        • +3

          @Hero: the Oneplus 5T is 6", totally different target market. It's a phablet.

        • +3

          @Hero Spend a bit more and you can get the Note 8.

          The point is you can always spend a bit more and get this instead of that. The people who buy budget/mid range phones are those that don't want to spend a little bit (which ends up quite a lot) more.

        • +2

          @sky blu:

          I know. I'm not dissing Nokia but ppl have their budgets and spending an extra $220 on a phone is alot of money.

        • +1

          @pennypincher98:

          I know, I was trying to make a point to sky blu.

        • +3

          @Hero: If you knew, you wouldn't have made that point.

          The Nokia 8 was an suggestion I made because it is directly comparable to the Zenfone 3 (5.3" vs 5.2", 4GB vs 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 vs 625). With the 10% ebay discount (which ends at 10pm), it is certainly worthy of a consideration. Going back to normal price it'd be close to $500, which only then makes AirMartino347's comment correct.

        • +5

          @sky blu:

          But…its still $220 extra on a phone does the same thing. Both phone can surf the web, play music, makes phone calls.

          If I had a budget of $450, yes, the nokia is a good deal and its worth the saving, you might as well say 'Hey the Lexus is350 is a better car than the Toyota Camry with plush interior and rwd that does 230kw but can people afford to spend an extra $10k on top? Some ppl have budgets you know and you don't seem to understand what we are saying.

        • 2+2 is 4 minus 1 that's 3.

      Aaaand the most ridiculous post of the night goes to…

    Android updates on the zenphones are infrequent.

    • +3

      On zenfone 4 has been almost monthly on Andoird 8

      • +1

        Correct. Even zenfone 2 got it for about 2.5 years after release. Sure only one major Android Version released, but bug fixes and security month level updates came

  • This or Xiami Mi A1?

  • +3

    Great phone, mine has just updated to latest Android 8 oreo.

    • Agreed. I have the same and great phone for the price.

      • +1

        Agree also, really like this phone. Put a screen protector on though, the screen is easy to break and hard to replace. Still recommend.

  • good post OP (OO) nice detail

  • No NFC ?

  • Ticks my boxes but unfortunately Taiwan based business, so basically no warranty (buyer bears os shipping both ways, probably cost as much as the phone)

      Here is a comment given by a customer, nickj

      … It took a few emails backwards and forwards (to describe the fault, then answer their questions to ensure it wasn't user error, check I accepted their proposed solution, etc), at all times remaining polite and courteous, then I sent it off to a Sydney address, and got the replacement handset back via DHL courier yesterday. Start to finish, took just over 3 weeks, which is awesome for a warranty that has expired.

      • +1

        Thanks - that looks promising (I note another customer on same thread saying same thing), much better than some other OS ebay phone vendors I have looked at. might have to push the button :)

  • +1

    You're better off paying a bit more for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. Fantastic phone and will get you 200/300 mbps internet on 4G+.

    • Nice phone but cheapest I can see on ebay is $579.99 now, so still more than double yesterday with the 10% off code. Different market.

        • Thanks for info. Just did a quick check on ebay for price but not always thorough enough search lol.

          The Android Enjoyed price for Silver Colour delivered to my 2483 postcode is $303+$24=$327 Standard Express Post

          DWI Digital price for Silver Colour delivered to my 2483 postcode is $327+$32.90=$359.90 Standard Shipping ( Regional Remote Areas ).

          Much better prices than ebay currently, even if they had an un-jacked 20% off Sale lol.

        • +1

          @ozhunter68: No worries. I have it currently and the only tiny downside is the battery but overall it's an incredible phone and very well built. Feels highly premium and a lot of people ask me about it.

        • @machej:

          Got my best phone ever so far late last year, a Moto G5+ 32GB/4GB also dual sim 4G/3G so will be happy with that for a while to come, especially after getting the Oreo update on it soonish I hope lol.

          Have been looking at the Asus phones for a while now, had a few of their laptops and tablets and like their bang for your buck and sometimes nice style too.
