  • i saw the new apu reviews, they werent as impressive as i imagined, still good but its really entry level gaming, just under a 1030 for the 2400g

    • They're better than Intel's I think.

      • theyre at least 2 - 3x intel's but it performs under a 1030 so its good for people playing older games, probably mid setting for 1080 and thats after OC

        • GTX 1030's are about $100ish

    • Yeah, I agree - not as impressive as the hype. That said though, at around $130-ish for the 2200G, it basically obsoletes the Ryzen 3 1200, which is around the same price, but has lower frequency. It'd be a good CPU for general office use.

    • Right but the main reason this is good news is because now Ryzen users can skip buying a GPU to have certain video features and have the gaming capabilities.

      I cannot wait to see tablets using this CPU, that's where it could really shine as far as gaming goes for me.

      • A tablet with a 65W APU/CPU???

    • The main advantage is the fact the CPUs are already comparable to their non APU Ryzen counterparts price wise. You're basically getting a 1030 (A ~$100 card) for free.

      For example:
      2200G = $139
      1300x = $169

      2400G = $235
      1500x = $239

      Overall the APUs won't keep up with high speed cards, but if you decide to upgrade to a 1080 in the future these CPUs are enough that they should keep up. That's pretty impressive considering a starting build price of around $400-500 - all you'll need to upgrade in the future is the GPU.

    this deal would be fantastic if it werent for the god damn ram prices

    • The RAM pricing is absurd. $149 for just 8GB!? the industry really need to take control of this, it's slowing down the market.

    • Blame Samsung.
      They decided to lift Ram profit to cover their Note7 lost.

        Blame Canada.

        • Southpark rocks

  • Do these have low profile? I bought GTX 1050 Ti a while ago for a Dell 9020 SFF, but it has an issue with my Dell U2715H monitor. Annoying screen flickering and going dark for a second or two while watching Ful HD or 2K videos. The monitor works fine with a non GTX card.

    • This is not a video card.

      • Oh shite! My n00bness is showing. Lol! Thanks, mate.

        Edit. I could have realized it's a motherboard had I visited the link. My fault. :)

    These would make an excellent HTPC set up. Will play any video codec at any resolution and is a freakin bargain for the money. The 2200G is most likely gonna be the system my HTPC/Plex server refresh is going to build on. 8GB of memory and the drives from my old system. The old HTPC is a Q6600 is ancient and struggles to play some stuff these days.

  • I am planning to build a Ryzen 2200g setup. I wish this had an option to upgrade to a B350 Board.

    Can anybody please advise if any DDR4 RAM will work if it is not on the MotherBoards QVL list? (I like the ASrock AB350m Pro4, has lots of features and it is cheap but the RAM I found is not listed on the QVL.)

    • +2

      It should. In my experience, the QVL doesn't really help that much. I had memory listed on the QVL and still had issues.

  • How does the Ryzen 3 2200G compare to the Ryzen 5 1600X?

  • would the motherboard with the 2200G work with a 1050, thanks!

  • Did PLE flash the latest bio on these motherboard?
