[QLD] 2.5kw Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Aircon $375 (after $450 Rebates/Cashback) @ SparkyDirect ($292 after Bunnings PriceBeat)

1970

So, there is a bit to this deal to get the price down, but worth it if you're in the market for a bedroom air-con.

Final price is worked out this way:

Bunnings : $870
Bunnings after price match: ($825 - 10%) = $742.50
QLD Gov rebate for 4 star aircon: ($742.50 - $300) = $442.50
MHI Rebate: ($442.50 - $50) = $392.50
Energex Peaksmart Rebate: ($392.50 - $100) = $292.50

Step 1 - Get Bunnings to price beat Sparky Direct for the aircon
Step 2 - Apply for QLD Gov Rebate. Original Deal
Step 3 - Submit MHI Cashback - Expires Feb 28th!
Step 4 - Apply for Energex Peaksmart rebate when getting aircon installed

If you wanted something a bit bigger you could get the 3.5kw MHI system for around $450 using the same method. Not as good value in terms of % off the price, but still a great deal.

      • Yep

    • lol same, seems to be the only Bunnings with stock currently. Price matched @ $825. The chick just laughed and said there has been so many people through. Didn't want any proof etc.
It seems to be scanning at $830 now, though thankfully SparkyDirect is still $5 cheaper :)

  • Can anyone confirm if the package dimensions on Bunnings website for the 3.5 are accurate? I'm trying to work out if it'll fit in my car of if I'm going to need to borrow a ute etc.

      what type of car?

fit easily in my toyota echo hatch.. but then again.. i can fit anything in that as it seems to have some sort of after-market spacial-warping tech fitted.

    • 2.5/3.5 have same package dimensions and fit in an Audi A3 Sportback with both seats down. I also got a 2.0 on a separate trip with just one side seats down and a baby seat still in, so you shouldn’t have a problem in most hatchback that you can put the seats down. A sedan, it might be a bit tall, as it says on the package that it shouldn’t be placed on its side.

    • So no issues fitting a 3.5 unit in my VW golf. Could have fit two in there!

Thanks op for posting this deal. I was recently quoted $1760 for supply & install of a 3.5. It should now be $1210 (not going for peaksmart rebate). Much good karma is aimed in your direction! Cheers dude.

Also as of lunchtime today (Sunday) Bunnings Brendale had 1 x 3.5 and 1 x 5kw units left. Had no problems price beating sparkydirect (they did add postage though).

  • Just got one today. Seem to be running low on stock now in South side of Brisbane. Thank you!!

  • Picked up 2x 3.5kw (SRK35ZSA-W) from Cannon Hill Bunnings on 22/02, they were the last 2 of the 3.5kw, there were no 2.5's left but there were plenty of 5.0kw.

Didn't add postage to the price match

    • Just had the rebate approved and transferred into my account.

I'm in Vic, but shit like this is exactly why I come to OzB. Good on you OP! Milk every dollar, what a bargain for our banana-bending friends!

  • Bunnings now reduce the price to $820 already so No more Price beat which is sad.

  • Picked up 1x 3.5kw (SRK35ZSA-W) from Brendale Bunnings (North Bris) today 26/02, last one on the shelf however they had 2 more in stock 'out the back'. there were no 2.5's left on the shelf but there was 1x 5.0kw.

Price tag for the 3.5 stated $1025.00. Didn't even ask to scan it just went straight to counter and asked to price match a printout of the Sparky Direct page. Brought the price down to $899.01. (They charged me 10.95 extra as postage meh)

  • Bunnings Rothwell now have both units cheaper so price beat not available.

  • Expiry removed, date is now 31 March to get the supplier cash back.
