  • Hi Ozbargainers,

For any questions you need answering on OZB, please do not hesitate to reply to this comment thread as I sometimes don't receive notifications when someone else comments :)

Looking forward to hearing your questions!

    • IMPORTANT UPDATE: THE 2 DEGREES CARRY OVER COMBO COMES WITH 1.25 GB OF DATA NOW AND NOT 1GB AS IT PREVIOUSLY OFFERED!

      • keep up the good customer service

    • @SoEasy.Travel Well, after singing your praises, I'm now in two minds about So Easy Travel. Last Thursday I only received one SIM, from my order for 2 SIMs. I left a message on your website, and haven't received a reply. On Friday, I then messaged you through OzBargain, and haven't still haven't received a reply.

I was assuming it was a genuine mistake, but you guys aren't even getting back to me: what's going on, please? :(

      • Hi Richard

Sorry to hear that I personally responded to you and have resolved the issue and have organised a replacement to be sent out :)

        • Hi Amanda. Just wanted to point out to everyone that yes, So Easy Travel (Amanda, specifically) fixed up the problem and I've got the SIM which was missing from my order. Cheers.

    • Hi amanda,
I had placed my order on the 7th of March. Due to your delay in the design of your new SIM card the processing of my order was delayed.

The last update on the 23rd of march: Your shipment is confirmed
We've accepted your order, and we're getting it ready. Come back to this page for updates on your shipment status.

Has this been sent yet? I am flying out on Friday to NZ. Will I receive it prior? No one on your support team email has responded with an ETA.

  • Seems like a good deal.
When we went to NZ last month we purchased a SPARK prepaid sim and it cost us about $25 NZD ($5 for the sim and $20 recharge). It had similar inclusions to this deal.

    • Thanks for the feedback!

  • Great deal. Have used these cards - and So Easy, before. Just grabbed another couple.

Wish 2 degrees had a 1.5GB SIM (and deal through So Easy!)

    • Were releasing new 2 degrees SIM cards very soon!

      • Can you tell us more about the new SIMs? Do they have an expiry and what are their inclusions?

  • +2

Nz data deals suck. Better off being on vodafone and using free roaming. Btw this is not to rubbish tbe posted deal as its pretty good compared to whats on offer from the airport.

    • 2D has a "data clock" feature that lets you use unlimited data. Right now there's a promo so that the first month of service you get 1 hour of unlimited data per day.

Otherwise, yep, NZ has pretty crappy data costs.

Also last time I checked, Vodafone ended data roaming for free to NZ :(

Vodafone Australia will axe free roaming in New Zealand from February 2018, bringing Kiwi country back onto its $5/day scheme. Two years on, that appealing deal is being scuppered starting February 8, 2018.

      https://www.ausbt.com.au/vodafone-scraps-free-roaming-in-new…

    • I absolutely agree with you ! Data is very expensive in NZ

that's why were releasing new 2 degrees carry over combo's!

You can view them here: https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobile/prepay/

      • Hi Amanda,
Will there be any specials for the higher data carry over packs? Eg 40% off the 2.5 gb or 10gb?

  • my experience with them - bought a few when they were 50% off a few months ago.
used them a couple of weeks ago in redwoods forest, carrier reception (voice/data) was fine
2 of the sims activated easily; insert sim, restart phone and dial #200.
1 sim required going through voice prompts to setup a pin
1 sim wouldn't activate (only inbound calls and calls to customer service would work). 2 days later, it suddenly started working (activation issue?)

I'm still waiting for "three all in one 12GB" Europe sim to go sales. I need two of these before Mid May.

  • I am going to NZ in July- does the one month validity mean I won't be able to retain and use that far forward?

    • +1

      Hey there :)

It means that from the moment of activation you have 30 days to use your allocated bundle, after the period finishes, the carryover combo allows you to carryover your data for the next month when you recharge.

The SIM cards have no shelf life :) so you can purchase now and keep on you for later!

  • +1

Any word if you guys will sell US/Canadian sim cards? I am heading over to the US in June.

    • +1

Keep an eye out on OZB next week :)

  • Thanks. Picked up 2 for a trip to NZ in October.

    • Fantastic , you'll love them :)

  • You're far better being on a one month Vodafone contract (or longer depending on stay duration) and getting more data and unlimited calls back to Oz.

    • What's the minimum buy in for that though?

      • There's a handy tool that lets you choose what your inclusions are. https://www.vodafone.com.au/prepaid/plans/mymix
If you'd only need 1.25gb then this deals the best. From my experiences and needing more data, Vodafone was by far the best route.

        • 4GB over 7 days for $15 (do you need to add any changes for international roaming?) is pretty good.

        • +1

@sween64: International roaming charges are usually $5 (if I remember correctly) per day. However, NZ is free so there's no charge for this. I can't remember if I needed international minutes or not or how it charged New Zealand calls whilst there.

        • +1

@PR0r: it's no longer free for NZ - standard $5 now with VOdafone.

        • @corgicorgi: Thanks for the update. I decided to purchase a couple of these considering.

    • +1

But is it really worth signing up and getting a vodafone contract for a short trip to NZ? Believe it or not the reason these sell out fast is because it's the cheapest option(even compared to buying it in NZ) and most Aussies only do short term travel to NZ so much easier to get this :)

      • If you require more than 1.25 GB I felt it was worth it. Guess I could just purchase a few of these and swap once data is blown?

        • +1

Yeh that's actually what a few of our customers actually use it for :). It's cheaper to purchase multiple Sims and just use the data once your done with one.

  • I used this last month and it was fine. We activated at the airport. Just a bit confusing activating as when you go to the 2 degrees app, it said 0 credit, but when we called them they said everything was fine and we were able to call and use the data. The instructions also mention setting up a PIN, but we were never prompted to do this, which also added to the confusion.

SIM arrived in less than 2 weeks of ordering. Would recommend this deal.

  • +1

Can you top these up, and how much?

  • I will fly to Christchurch on Sunday, will the SIM be delivered until then to Sydney?

    • It depends how long your postie has for his lunch break tomorrow. Seriously though, how can anyone know your answer?

    • +1

I ordered this on Tuesday from Melbourne and I just received it in the post today!

Really happy with the service thanks OP

  • I purchased this a week ago and it still hasn't come in. I don't think it has been posted yet (status is Unfulfilled). When can I expect this to come in?

    • Hi there

Have you received our email to certain customers stating of the situation of 2 degrees delaying stock to their distributors because of the new packaging change?

All orders that are still pending will be fulfilled Monday Morning, the new design is blue and looks great! they just had a few issues with manufacturing this week

      • Cool. I haven't received any updated and came here to post as well as I haven't received anything either.

Will check in again next week. Thanks.

        • In the same boat. Ordered 3, any chance I could add a 4th to the order?

        • @Yapapi: You can simply check out again and we can have the order ready for you :)

  • Damn I missed out.. I was going to buy 4. Oh well will wait or just get on arrival…

    • Inbox me maybe I can help you out!

  • +1

still waiting for an update on my order. Ordered almost 3 weeks ago, no tracking number, no change on my order page.

Can i get a follow up please from So Easy Travel?

    • I'm with ya mate. Would love to know when I'm going to get this!

      • I should of posted that i got a notification of shipping yesterday. I expect they'll arrive Monday/Tuesday.

        • Hi there guys not to worry all orders were fulfilled on the 23rd. All parcels should be delivered before the long weekend as Australia Post have been flooded so far throughout the week.

        • @So Easy Travel: No worries. Arrived today. Thanks.

  • TL;DR they lied multiple times about posting this to me and took so long to post it that I had left before I received it.

I saw a deal on OzBargain to purchase a New Zealand Sim from them. I purchased 3 for myself and a couple mates on 07/03/18. I messaged them on 15/03/18 asking them about the progress of this as I didn't have any email confirmation and it didn't show any progress on their website and I was leaving soon. On the 16/03/18 they confirmed that they will express post it and it will arrive by 21/03/18 at the latest. On the 22/03/18 I contacted them back as I didn't receive it, and that they would express post it and I would receive it the following day. On 23/03/18 they had sent it but with normal shipping which would take 4 businees days and I was leaving on the 28th. So this didn't arrive in time, and I didn't get a Sim which both me and my friends counted on to use.

    Would not recommend.

    • Hi there Sa

I spoke to you through Facebook and we immediately resolved the issue by organising a courier to be delivered to your address before you depart. Thanks for your patience through this.
