The LG remote is back at one of the lowest prices yet, as the previous $7 deal required delivery. The Chromecast 2 has been much cheaper in the past, but there aren't many deals running, so this is the cheapest I can find currently.

There haven't been any Chromecast Ultra deals since Trent's $55 post. This isn't the cheapest yet, but I can't find any cheaper currently for local stock. If you don't mind getting it from Kogan, you can get it slightly cheaper with this method;

  1. Purchase a $50 off $120 Kogan voucher from eBay or the classifieds page.
  2. Create a new Kogan account via this page to get $10 in credit.
  3. Make sure you have signed up to Shipster with the same email, so you can get free shipping.

Cheapest voucher I can see listed is for $10.59, so the total price should be $70.59 shipped (120+10.59-50-10). You do need to add $25 worth of goods to reach the minimum spend of $120 for the vouchers, however it shouldn't be too difficult. Link to the product here and a $25 item.

      I came here to ask if the LG might be programmable to run my Panasonic TV!

      We have a Harmony, but the out-laws think it's "too hard" to click the "Watch TV on TV" "button" or "Watch DVD on TV" button.
      It's much "easier" to use 2 different remotes to control each device individually apparently.

    Anyone know if an LG OLED remote gives you a simple remote like the Samsung One remote, or a proper one like this?

    If anyone owns an LG OLED, can you tell me if your remote is the rectangular one, or the one curved along the sides?

      I'm pretty sure the LG OLED's use the magic remote which is very different to this. Any LG TV with smart TV function probably wouldn't work too well with this remote as you can't easily use it to access the smart TV menu.

      I have an LG OLED and you get both the rectangular one and the curved one in the box. The small curved one is useless though not even worth unbagging.

      You can definitely use this to access the smart TV menu, look at the center of the remote just above the directional keys is a home button. Might have trouble using parts of it though as the LG OLED rectangular remote also controls a floating mouse cursor sort of like the Wii menus.

          It's redundant. It's a basic floating mouse like the wiimote (although the rectangular one also does this) and has buttons for the smart tv "home", channel up/down and volume up/down and that's pretty much all it has. I think it's aimed at basic operations.

      I have the C7T 65-inch and can confirm that it only comes with the smaller curved remote.

      I note previous comments that both are included, that must be for a different model.

      Best to check the Owner's Manual online which shows what's included in the box to verify which remotes are included.

        C7T here as well. I'll double check my box but I'm pretty sure I got both remotes with mine. BTW, magic remote eats batteries like pancakes. I'm replacing mine every 2-3 months. Is this normal?

          I checked the manual as well just in case I somehow missed it in the giant box, and it says only the single remote. Would be very interested to hear if yours came with the 2 remotes.

    Does anyone know does this have buttons to choose an input directly (i.e.: HDMI 1, 2, 3 etc), instead of having to press Input then select for example HDMI 3?

    For anyone trying to order a Chromecast from Good Guys Casula - give up. I tried 5 different times with three different browsers and every time an error came up when I tried to confirm the order. I chatted and called eBay and each time it didn't go through. Changed store to Caringbah and it worked first time.

    I have been trying to buy a chromecast too but I have been getting an error everytime. I contacted Ebay and got this response -

    We've been receiving contacts about buyers payment is not going through and receiving same errors while purchasing the item from the seller 'thegoodguysaustralia' . This is a known issue.

    JB-HIFI wouldn't price match Ebay at Gepps Cross in SA. I have been able to get JBs at Mile End to match ebay before for a Dyson from Binglee which is strange seeing as there are no Binglee stores in SA.

      Update - i just tried to price match with Officeworks in Werribee VIC, they declined as told me thy cant price match for ebay coupon codes.
      So i bought from TGG on pick up from Hoppers crossing VIC successfully.

      Thanks, i kept getting the same error and nearly went mental, TGG themselves were USELESS. In the end i got so frustrated i gave up and will not try again. At least i wasn't just me.
