    400TBW before failure too… that’s 200 full writes!

we looked at some expensive built for purpose systems (~$40,000 each) which used micron m-sata ssd drives. the health of the SSDs deteriorated within 6 months to the point where the OS took ~30 mins to boot. Trying to restore a backup was going to take ~48 hours (whereas on a fresh SSD would take about 7 mins). They had to replace them all with intels which are still sitting on 100% health after a year.

i assume that the supplier of these machines decided to save a few bucks and found these super cheap. not worth it when it comes to ssds

tldr - maybe give these a miss

    • Micron produce Lexar and Crucial brands also. So give them a miss too?

Just saying… Micron is a massive company. First in the world to produce a 6 Gbit/s SATA interface.
      They're not a nobody.

      • yeah but you're getting support from those companies. i admit i've only seen 3 different types of micron OEM drives but none of them lasted.

  • Could this be fake capacity storage? Seems like a really good deal. Done any tests with the drive?

Micron Drives are definitely legit, I've got a couple of their 1TB SSDs and I've done a full write test to both and they were the advertised capacity.
