      Mmmm those stingrays…

      • careful it doesn't give you heartburn

        (too soon?)

  • ahh damn. I was looking at the WIP before but settled for a dry age 5 from the previous sale. Great price though

    • Oh man, WIP looks mighty fine actually! Looks more easier to access the front compartment due to no clips

      • Might return my private zoo and get the wip. Just not sure about the fake leather look.

        • beware the WIP is just only 7.6L

        • The private zoo still look's great - keep it if you like the look and color of your one! and as another person pointed out the volume space is only ~7L for WIP. It's main functionality is an office work bag which is very minimalist. You can use it casually too but just keep in mind you can't store much if you are a person who wants to store a lot in their bag - but if you only store the essentials it works great!

        • @aykay123: Yep. Want to primarily use it work so would be perfect. Was debating between the WIP and the incase icon lite when the private zoo deal came up n I bought that instead. Now that I have it I think its too casual for work.
Could get the icon lite for the same price but guess have a thing for crumpler.

          @Dealayed:
I agree the private zoo looks a bit casual for work - Looks more of a weekend casual or uni-student bag.

I just looked at the incase icon lite and it looks great for a work bag too - comparing it to WIP it looks longer so it takes away if you want minimalist look but stores more too tho so it's 'safer' if you decide you want to store more later as well as versatile if you decide to double-up and use it as a casual bag which stores more.

WIP has more aesthetic of a design aspect to it as it has 2 color tones as well as a diagonal zipper if you want something different.

Overall - functionality and versatility: icon lite, aesthetics and minimalistic: WIP.
Good luck in your choice, both look and function great for work and I'd think you be happy with either of them.

@aykay123: if it's looks and minimalist view, wip is perfect.

But for the same price, I would prefer to get rampaging mob. Beast that can hold 20l and also has a top laptop compartment. I would personally view this as good alternative to dry reds actually.

    • What good about the WIP?

      • It just looks a lot better than that 'popular' Dry Red 5 that everyone got in that previous deal. Although the holding space is a lot less (20L vs 7L) the weight of it is also less (1.3kg vs 0.73kg) compared to dry red, it has a front compartment which is easy to access on the go. Less hidden pockets and holding space but more nice and compact. The laptop compartment also looks very secure (can be strapped down) and I prefer top loaded rather than side like other bags do.

It also looks sleek for both professional and casual use (black and blue) the Crumpler branding is also subtle so it doesn't look invasive/ out of place like other bags. I love the atheistic and minimalist design of it. However, you might not like the boxy look to it. Also I think this would work more on shorter people due to its size. It's on the small side - so it would look weird on bigger guys. I'm 170cm and I think the dimensions are perfect for me. But if you are bigger ~ 190 and like the hipster look of small bags its also okay :P

The only problem I have with it, is there no water bottle holder on the outside.

Overall, personally I like the look and functionality of it - very minimalist. But I'll probably wait till it goes under $80-90 before I pull the trigger (It's not a must have but it's different - if you want something different). All this is subjective - but I hope it helps!

I'm expecting a 'further 20% off' sale later

    • Is it usual to have 20% on top of these discounts?

      • Has happened at least twice in the past 6-8 months

  • What's the deal with CRumpler bags being everywhere the last couple of years? They seem pretty pricey for what they are.

      (1) Lifetime Warranty (2) Good Quality overall.

      • +1 on that. They have replaced a couple of zips for us, no questions asked. They aren’t cheap but the quality is really good and they last for years.

    • Had a dreadful embarassment for 7 years not a single problem, carried all my uni books and a laptop when 3 other brand bags broke in my first year. They have a lifetime warranty and are really well made.
