  • Okay price. Cheapest but not by far.

  • Great price, can you do free shipping on the 16gb too?

    • Thanks. We'll consider it in the next times.

    • yeah 8 gb not much of use nowadays, need 16 or 32 gig…..

  • +6

Was about to get the 16Gb version for $20.45 but then saw the postage at $5.95. Ouch. Even pick up is a fee of $3.00. Ouch again.

I'd stay away from this product as it's really really slow to copy. Worst purchase of the year for me.

    • +1

Thank you for reminding me not to buy this.

    • Test results for a similar product, the 16GB Cruzer, from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/33200#comment-303679

USBdeview (few minutes): 15.80MB/s reads, 3.47MB/s writes
Flashnul (test 1, few hours, full surface, average speeds): 18 Mb/s reads, 4.24 Mb/s writes|Flashnul (test 2, few hours, full surface, average speeds): 18 Mb/s reads, 4.25 Mb/s writes
      CrystalDiskMark(30 minutes, 1000Mb x 5, sequential): 18.04 MB/s reads, 4.5 MB/s writes

This drive is not very fast, but its speed is also not too bad imho.

    • I second that.

      • -1

I get around 5MB/s. I'm pretty happy with it. Good enough for me to keep uni docs.

What do people seriosuly expect for $12 shipped??

  • I think the low write speed is acceptable at this price. Any alternatives?

  • +4

I myself had one of these and it was shocking.

    • +3

      Agreed, confirmed.

    • I don't doubt that at all, I'd just like to know what to get instead if I'm after speed.

  • thanks just got one

  • +1

    good for recording tv shows

  • I'm confused. This post is from 4.75 hours ago. The link goes to a page that says that the sale was 16/12 to 21/12. The 8Gb Flash Drive is $15.45 in shipping, not the $11.95 mentioned above.

    Am I missing something?

If I were you I will just spend 1 second to read the post so I wouldn't waste 1 minute typing these sentences and 10 minutes scratching my head.

      • Harsh but true.

      • True, I looked straight past the mention on the coupon, sorry.

    • any discounted specs around for this dude? ;)

thx for posting this deal, I prefer San disk products and this is a very reasonable price its perfect for viewing avis on my xbox

  • Just made my order, but didnt put in the code OZCRZ8G, so sent them a email to refund me the difference….:(

  • Thanks for this. Bought one. Site limits purchase to just one. At $12 it is $3 less than lowest price for 8Gb USB on Static Ice.

  • I recently purchased a 16GB sanidsk cruzer, mainly for copying divx too and then plugging into the USB port of a blu-ray player for playback. Works well for this. On the PC, the file transfer speed maxes out at around 5MBps, as mentioned in a previous post here. If speed is your concern, I recommend the Corsair GTR series, 34MBps read and 28MBps write. These can't be beat - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CORSAIR-32GB-Flash-Voyager-GTR-USB-Th…
I don't necessarily recommend you get one from that seller as they can had for cheaper on Staticice but seem to be out of stock at the majority of places .
They aren't as compact as the Sandisk Cruzer's and there's no retractable connector but that's the sacrifice you make for speed.

    • I dont recommend Corsair drives if you intend on putting it on your keyring!
Their shitty design means that after 9 months, the usb connector will snap off!
Great speed is useless if you can no longer connect it to a PC!
I tried resoldering but took too long trying to fiddle with the tiny connections and fried the memory chip in the process.. Cheers Corsair!
Sandisk Cruzer Titanium is rugged (I still have my 512Mb Titanium from 5 years ago, going strong) and pretty quick.

      • i agree, the design isn't the best but if after 9 months the connector snaps off during normal usage, you should look at replacement under warranty.

  • good deal

  • Has anyone had their order status changed to 'shipped' or something similar. Mine's still 'processing'.

    • My USB drive was shipped as of 4pm. Notified via email.

    • Ordered mine on Wednesday, got it on Friday! Very happy with it.

  • Rep, can you do same price for 8GB microSD?

  • Some negative reviews above, what a shame. I wonder if it will be alright in an Xbox360? My brother had a 4gb Xbox with Kinect, and he said u can plug in usb to upgrade memory.
