  • All in all, I'm finding the ozito garden tool ecosystem isn't any good, other than the hedge trimmer. So I'll stick with the one battery that came with the hedge trimmer.

Id like to see the pole trimmer on sale. But it's heavy as hell when extended, and the chainsaw bundle is useless.. Pole seceteurs are 1000000% better than a chainsaw that spews oil everywhere without actually cutting.

I'd like a battery blower vac, but specifically want the vacuum side of it. So the ozito is no good for me.

Also want a line trimmer. The ozito plastic spoked version is no good, the blades will shatter against the adjacent wall.

If they just tweaked things I'd probably rave about ozito. I do love the warranty.

    /life story

    • Have the pole pruner and it's a heavy unwieldy bastard. It does work though, managed to cut through branches that would require a good saw.
Can confirm the trimmer is pretty crap. The small blower is OK for light leaf work and it can dry a car but not the best.

Through the discounts here, I've ended up with the hedge trimmer, blower, whipper sniper, circular saw, 4ah battery, 3ah battery, 1.5ah battery, USB charger adapter, fast charger and eco charger. Every one of them have been great.

    • Yeah vav is the way to and it chops up tbe leaves so they fit in the bin …..blower just moves the problem elsewhere so might as well use broom, $10 and doesnt need charging.

I've been quite impressed by the pole chainsaw.

It cuts through branches 15cm in diameter in a few seconds. I would never have been able to reach and cut through them without it. Secateurs wouldn't be able to cut through that size branch.

I've used it cut down a large tree on a single 4Ah battery charge.

The hedge trimmer attachment is ok too - but agree it is very heavy.

I imagine the line trimmer is pretty crap in comparison to a two-stroke one with proper line. I'd chew through all those plastic blades in two weekends.

      • Interesting that you could use the chainsaw. I tried it on a bougainvillea. It couldn't cut a darn thing. It sprayed oil constantly. Wonder if it's defective.

        • There is definitely a knack to using it. You simply wedge the branch between the chain and the saw housing and it will bite into it and cut without any need for pressure or movement. If it doesn't "bite" it won't cut properly. If it gets a proper "bite" it will pull the branch in automatically.

You obviously need to use the right side of the saw and don't apply any pressure. Also ensure the branch falls away from the saw rather than onto it - otherwise it jams. Another common problem is when the opposite side of the saw is touching another branch while trying to cut using the correct side.

The side of the saw with the little 'shark fin' is the side that should be used for cutting.

It works best for larger sturdy branches that don't move. Bougainvillea is probably a bit thin and springy unless you are cutting the trunk.

      • Agreed, have been very impressed with the pole chainsaw, had one for about 2 years now, doesn't spew out any oil either, not sure what old mate above is on about tbh, great product imo. Yes it's heavy when extended but I mean what do you expect at over 2m lol, still easier to prune my tall hedges with that than constantly shuffling a ladder along.

I also have the line trimmer (amongst a few other power X garden tools) and yes if you are constantly cutting against a wall or something then they'll wear faster but so did my old one with a regular line spool, only difference is it takes about 2 seconds to clip a new blade on the ozito vs a few tedious minutes re-threading the old spool, and the self spooling one before that was just trash and constantly jammed. Also you can find the blades on ebay for $5 odd for x50, problem solved.

Also Ozito do make a blower vac with mulcher, actually takes 2x 18v batteries like a mower though. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-power-x-change-18v-brushle…

    • My (corded) pole chain saw is great!
A bit on the heavy side, but so am I, so it's not an issue.

  • What about their angle grinder? Any opinions? I need one..

It's ok for light work only. No good for thick metals or hard grinding

  • wondering i’d bunnings are streamline their range and want dump all 1.5a batteries and just stock 2a …. would make it easier to not have to drop prices when aldi do their 1.5a stuff.

I don't think that Aldi has sold 1.5Ah 20V (18V) batteries for a while now. 2Ah and 4Ah batteries are the only ones they seem to stock. I suspect that this is just Bunnings clearing out their remaining stock of lower capacity batteries.

  • Unless you also need the charger, this isnt so great. the 2Ah battery is $35 which gives you better life.

  • I bought the expensive mower, the one that requires 2 batteries and my mum loves that (and the hedger). The biggest positives for her was how light it was.

She was also surprised she could do both yards (but she has the larger batteries).
