No email but gave it a go anyway, no dice for me :(

    • Mine not working either.

  • @ OP

Is your eligible account frequently used or a dormant account?

    • +3

wifes account, so not used often. Only when I have used all codes etc

      • Thanks.

  • :~(

$30 off from $50 at ebay?

    yeh right!

  • +1

None of my 4 accounts worked.

    • +2

Checked my 7 accounts, ranging in age from 3 months to 16 years. Nothing.

        True OZB spirit is here…

  • +2

Seems these targeted deals are good advertisement for ebay.

  • +1

    Didn't work for me.

  • The only Ebay code I got was "PROJECT" revamp your home with 20% off https://www.ebay.com.au/rpp/home-improvement-sale/

What is the point of posting targeted offers? Am I missing something? Is it for the benefit of the comatose?

    • +5

So we all scramble logging into our multiple accounts to see if we were one of the lucky ones ;)

    • +2

I can't see any benefits. If it's targeted, that means one should receive the email..

      • +1

I see what you're getting at, but some people turn off promotional emails fom eBay and won't get notified.

I would suggest that anybody with multiple accounts turn on promo emails, but the range of accounts that get targeted seems to range from almost everybody, to almost no one.

Without any way of knowing how many people get targeted, what are the moderators to do but to allow all of them or none of them?

You can turn off targeted posts, but sometimes the OP doesn't realise it's targetted. I myself bave been guilty in the past of not checking if an eBay code was targetted or not. There should be a boiler plate warning (and perhaps a recommended way of checking if a code is targeted?) prior to posting eBay deals? I don't really know if there are solutions to this. At least, no simlle solutions (aside from banning all eBay posts).

        • well that makes sense…

  • +1

We need a new category … 'highly targeted'. Wondering if this was for those accounts who were originally targeted with the $10 of $20 spend and didnt use that.

  • didn't work for me

  • +2

Wow. This is a really good offer. Unfortunately i didn't get it either but congrats to those who got it.

  • +3

I got the email this morning and it worked!! What a deal
Also received a $20 off $30 min spend voucher. Am I lucky?

    • +4

      Yes, yes you are.

      • I thought I was lucky!

    • @ Kainal

Tell us about these two accounts. Regular use, or infrequent use?

      • Both vouchers on one account. I don't use this account often.

  • Any deals for Sunday night? :)

I have an item sitting in my watch list with 3 bids…

  • +2

Surely Ebay emails the Targeted cohort?

So what is the point of these posts then? Is it to make the rest of us untargeted Ozbargainers jealous…

I have 2 accounts, one used frequently, one used infrequently - last used October (5 months ago). Neither account receiver the offer… :(

    • Surely Ebay emails the Targeted cohort?

Indeed. In fact, one main group of beneficiaries of these discount codes are those with dormant accounts (ie those who haven't logged on for xx weeks). In those instances, the mere act of logging onto your account to check for a code will actually preclude you from getting such a code!

      • Sneaky!

      • I have accounts that I never log in for over 1 yr yet still no love from eBay.

  • How on earth do people get these codes? I have seen targeted eBay codes on here for years and I have never gotten one.

    • copy that. me too

  • +1

Thanks for the post, made me check my account and found a $10 off $20 spend voucher which was expiring today.

  • Went to my account and for the first time ever the vouchers field appeared with 2 vouchers!

    Expired 20/03/18
    and
    Expired 18/03/18

    ……………….

  • Not for me.

  • Yeh none for me, did anyone here even manage to get it??

  • No go here.

  • If I where eBay, I'd target OZB regular posters TOP 20. Maybe that's what happens :O

Targeted OP's for these deals should post:
    - Time since sign up
    - Time since last purchase
    - Frequency visiting eBay
    - No. of items in watch list
    - No. items in shopping cart
    Such a big saving wouldn't be random…
