  Never again Philippine Airlines, bought a business class ticket advertised here about march last year, the flight was due in September and precisely 7 days before the airline had contacted me that they actually ceased flying from Abu Dhabi like in June or something and therefore I had to fly from Dubai… so they changed my destination and there was zero compensation for doing it, I asked nicely and explained that changing destination is quite a big thing…no empathy, no compensation, just re booking and yes free hotel for the night they changed but overall pathetic ! I will never recommend anyone flying with them :(

    Isn't a free hotel compensation? And aren't Abu Dhabi and Dubai only 1.5 hours apart?

    I took advantage of the same deal, and so have nothing but good things to say about PAL. Seat was amazing, food was good quality and the lounge at MNL was nice enough

        thre you go, I had to for example in dubai go to the airport like 3.5 hours before the flight to sort out the "problem" and have speant 3 minutes flat in the lounge drinking cappuccino while standing coz it took them more than 2.5 hours to sort this out at the check in counter. Than the night was a necessity not a copensation since they dont fly to sydney every day so I had to stay there even though my original booking was not (oldish hotel, not that pleasant btw, but just ok to get me by). Than the 3 hours (5-6 calls) I spend on the phone, the inconvenient time, dubai flights were like 5am and abu dhabi like 4pm or so, I have choosen abu dhabi coz of this and could have flown via dubai if I knew, I have reserved hotels and one of them was not cancellable, some where changeable but it was hard to rock up somewhere at 9am and tell them give me a room which wouldnt happend with the abu dhabi conveninet flying times. I had to also change my consequent trips which again didnt cost me but why do I had to deal with that. If I just knew on time when they stopped in june it all could have been avoided. So instead of your nice experience when you got to the airport, checked in express, got to the lounge and had a pleasant flight I had few days of hard thinking while on the road, decisions that influenced each other and wasted hours on the phone with absolutely no fault of my own. Mate every reasonable person would offered me some freebie, say voucher or domestic flight or whatever but they pretty much concluded as you that "room is a compensation". Thank but no thanks :(

  Tip don't pay for seat selection thru skyscanner. Go to PAL website after you book bring up your bookung and select seats for free.
