Could have made it clear in the title you need to spend spend spend to get this price.

I second the motion - I didn't look at the details but sounds like title should state "4 for $206" or "Up to 33% off on spends > $300".

But, apart from that - a good find. Well done!

  • True, fixed.

    • Nice find; 1tb usb3.0 for $79 in itself is a pretty good price. If I may offer some feedback, the price of the item could have been mentioned ie $79, as $300 is just a number without a context. That would then lead to the conclusion that you must buy 4 hard drives for this deal to work, assuming you don't buy anything else. Really, I think they are two separate deals that combine to give an even better deal.

Entered my postcode(Melbourne) but they dont ship to it :(

  • No Deal.

Most of the stuff you need to spend in order to get those price are very expensive anyways.

Not worth it if you're looking for a external hard drive only.

IMO. MLN has a better deal:

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36766

    • even though this is USB 3.0?

      • I was just about to edit my post until an 'access denied' error appeared. :)

        Back on topic…

Still, I wouldn't consider this much of a deal considering not many people have USB3 anyways.

  • and could not deliver to Melbourne eastern suburb.

51.50 each delivered to your door.

    unless you live in Adelaide…

How do you arrive at that figure? $79*4 = $316. $100 off gives $216. Divide by 4 gets $54.

Edit: I tried it at the checkout and it gives $206, strange. Ordering system maths fail? Anyway you should also mention that this code only works for NSW/ACT.

    • actually i tried putting it through checkout, and you can get 4 hard drives for $206. Maybe they take $100 off the pre-GST price?

  • greenpossum, seems like they take 100 off the pre-GST amount first…then add the GST back on top

So in other words, it's $110 off the GST inclusive price. Looks like the newcomers have things to learn about presenting their deals in the best light. lol!

dont deliver to VIC, no deal

  • +2

does not make sense only shipping to NSW/ACT, for such a large company

    • It looks like they've only started operations.

      • -4

They may have only just started, but the post and courier services have not.

        • thats a good point.. but you realise these companies need to organise deals with courier services.. You don't seriously think they just use normal priced services..
Staples is a huge American stationary store.. Every little dollar is something..

I didn't realise Staples (A US company) had arrived in Australia till now
        http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/office-supplier-sta…

        • staples rocks in U.S

        • Thanks for that - nor did I.

      • It also looks like they are a rebranding of Corporate Express, using the Staples brand name.

Had a look at their normal offerings. Mostly overpriced. Wonder how they will fare against OW.

        • staples rocks in U.S
they aren’t that overpriced.. actually not bad.. almost in par with Officeworks really..
but they have free internet at all staples in US hahaha..

They do price match too at this staples.. they give you 30 days too.. to claim it back if you notice it later..(e.g buy something.. suddenly find it cheaper elsewhere.. you have 30 days to call back and get the difference)

      • Staples has been in the UK for ages too. They are pretty good over there.

    this is not a deal

    This is very confusing

What has the hard disk got to do with the $100 off? Are they two seperate deals?

When I click the link the hard disk is $79. Am I supposed to buy 4 of them so that I can qualify for the "buy $300, get $100 off" deal? I could do with an extra hard disk, but 4???

  • Can people explain….. if its worth it.. because i was reading specs and it doesn't even say RPM
so did a quick search and it says its 5400 RPM.. that doesn't seem very fast..

Friend told me 5400 is pretty slow for usb 3 since it will cap it..

    • RPM value itself doesn't determine drive speed.
I personally prefer 5400 drives as they produce less noise and heat.

      • yeah i did a quick read up.. my friend thought i was gonna use it internally..
i think its pretty good bargain.. im gonna give it to friends for xmas..

  • +1

The coupon code gives $100 off for every $300 you spend, therefore the HDD's they have on special are an even better special when you apply this discount code.

  • If you want to just buy one, is $79 for the 1TB USB 3.0 external hard disk a deal in itself? Or you can get a similar product cheaper elsewhere?

  • Bought 4 to share amongst friends. The discount definitely applies to prices excluding GST. Good deal if you live in NSW/ACT.

  • About time someone did a free shipping deal for the ACT/NSW.

  • Misleading title, need to spend more to get this price.
