    Same price at scorptec too

  • Hmm considering something like this for CCTV, but it's probably better to use Skyhawk right?

      Skyhawk or enterprise
Watch for deals from East Digital but make sure to run in raid config and follow 3-2-1 rule for crucial data, especially since ED's drives are pulls/refurb.

      • the NVR i'm using will only take 1 drive and it can't be accessed locally or added to things like Frigate etc so I won't be able to do raid config.

      • East Digital just put all their prices up by ~$40 :(

        • Have a look at their eBay page, prices are sometimes better there.

    $33.63 / TB

    • Passed!

Got this price for a while

  • This or the red plus for $20 more?

Is umart doing ok? I see a "for sale" something like property sale sign at my local umart store.

Anyway this is not the pro version. If I don't need one for now, I'd hold for upcoming Black Friday.

Meanwhile, WD Gold 18TB is currently on sale for $654 on Amazon with 5% discount this morning (gone now) and 5% cashback, worked out to be as close to this deal per TB. Gold is more premium I believe.

    • Property sale is unrelated to the business

      • Ohh I see. Good point. But on google map it says temporarily closed. I guess the new owner might or might not keep the renting.

Bruh, what is this? 2015? Where's the 100TB Hard drives we were promised for sub $300, 10 years ago?

    • +6

Hilariously enough, HDDs have gone up in price!

Amazon had an 8tb for 250 the other day, can't remember if it was a red or ironwolf. Im currently refusing to go higher than 25 per tb though.

  • Always use umart prices to price match elsewhere, umart literally have the worst after sales customer service if something goes wrong.

    • Fwiw they've always been good on warranties for me when I've physically gone into the store to return the thing

    • Know which places price match?

  • in Oct last year I got 2x 6TB Exos from East Digital for $225 delivered all up. yeah people talk about how "new" these may be. 12 month running fine so far

    • I bought “new” Seagate enterprise from them around a year ago, they have 35k+ hours via FARM, i’m trying to get a refund/replacement from ED right now, i’ll see how it goes

Can these be used like cloud storage that I can use from anywhere and any device? Sometime ago I tried setting up WD drive that never worked seemlessly and had to return. Paying too much to DropBox and Google.

    • These are bare drives

  • This is no deal - this is standard pricing for this drive and has been that way for a while

Need that AI bubble to hurry up and burst so the market floods with lightly used server equipment
