  • I know this was a hot item last Christmas. Havent heard much about it since. Is there still plenty of content being made or is the VR fad done and dusted in the main stream yet again?

I was on the fence a bit, but I've read enough good reviews (yeah, plenty of bad … but whatever) to make me think it's ok. The kids really like it and there seems to be just enough games to make it worthwhile. Also, you get good resale on ebay if the interest wanes. Most of the second hand ones on ebay are this price!!

My kids like going to the VR gaming place so this'll save me some $ on that. Better systems sure but not so much better that they'll appreciate it I think.

Sony announce a permanent price drop yesterday and it's only US$299 so AU$399 isn't too bad. Expect prices to go down a bit more since this is just the new RRP.

With ready player one coming out today … probably good timing to move stock.

I cant see anywhere the sony model number on the page nore is 'new' anywhere there so Im assuming this is v1 with no 4k passthrough.

    • I'll ask them. Let you know if they respond.

        v2

V1 definitely has 4k pass through just not HDR. Don't get confused.

    • The pictures make it look like version 2. Really keen to know as well.

        Is V2, they confirmed it.

    • Thanks Bellbird & zyo! Good price.

Just be mindful that the RPR will be $419 in april, so its not a big deal: https://press-start.com.au/news/playstation/2018/03/29/plays…

Id hold off gamesman getting in first with a price drop but will see others follow in coming days/weeks

"As of April 2, the starter PlayStation VR PlayStation Camera Bundle will be $419.95, which is $129.05 less than the original $549 retail price.

Similar price cuts will go into effect in the US, UK, Europe and Japan tomorrow, but Australia and New Zealand will have to wait a couple of days longer."

    Other retailers should follow soon.

Anyone planning to get one, I would wait for an Ebay deal on top of the new RRP
