  • Has anyone used the dex station and what did they think?

    • New version coming out 'Dex Pad' which may be worth considering

    • get Mate 10 and no need for Dex dock to get same experience. look for EMUI Desktop mode with any USB C to HDMI dongle

  • When it says Vodafone branded or any other branded, what does it actually mean? I know it is not locked to any network. Can I price match with stores like Harvey, Officeworks which sells similar product? TIA

    • Hi Venom,

Network branding means that there may be a bootup logo and couple of preinstalled apps. You are right in that they are not locked. Thanks

      • Thanks for the reply lyl. My next question, will these bootup logo cause any sort of issues with the phone? Also, can those preinstalled apps be uninstalled/removed? Cheers

        • Vodafone is the best when it comes to software (for carriers). There is no bootup logo for Vodafone, nor are there any other pre-installed Vodafone apps other than the tracking of data. All sim cards work on the Vodafone branded phones (much like this one). On a Vodafone branded product however, you won't get the benefits of Optus's Wi-Fi calling (or whichever feature is available on the other carriers).

        • @Aced21:

You can flash the Optus version of the firmware onto the phone and get Wifi Calling etc, and maintain your warranty, it doesn't trip KNOX.

        • @Cronium: I have the VF branded model. The CSC carrier settings is locked to VAU, so no VoLTE and Wifi calling.

        • @gunso:

          https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/how-to/offic…

Read this, follow the guide. I'm not responsible if you screw up some how. Make sure you select the Optus version of the CSC to flash.

        • @Cronium:
This method doesn’t work anymore as Samsung switched to multi csc firmware. All carrier firmware is the same. Search the internet and you will see many other reports by others.

  • Hi, are you able to mark down the price for Samsung s8 plus? as JBHIFI is selling at $898, so I can get a good deal for it. Thanks

  • Hardly control to order an S9. Upcoming Mix2s and p20 stopped me.
