Cool story, mate.

For the record, "pro consumer" and Apple do not go in the same sentence…

"pro-consumer" being them adding features other brands have had in their budget phones for years….

With android losing sideloading, at this point it’s pretty much same same but different

@Bubbleshark: Sideloading will be screwed by Groogle soon

Riveting.

I wouldn't touch an overpriced Apple product if you paid me 🤢🤮
Out of all the Android phones I've owned, Pixel has been my favourite.
I paid $499 for the P8P and it's the best phone I've ever purchased.
I can only imagine what the P10 with the TSMC Tensor G5 is like.
P8P was garbage, i upgraded to the 10 pro and its night and day better.

Suits my needs just fine, particularly for $499. I would never pay RRP for a Pixel considering how fast they tank in price.

@Maths Debater: For $499 its decent but still an awful device, i actually wanted to quit the pixel line as a result of the 8 pro, battery is atrocious, its sluggish, freeezes, and was a generally poorly made device.
The 10 pro is amazing. has a comfortable 2 day battery life, very smooth, not overheating, feels premium. The tmsc chip is a game changer, it literally feels night and day.
@maverickjohn: My P8P is awesome and does not have any of the problems you listed, maybe you just had a dud one.

@willy000: I'm not sure, maybe. I bought both of these at launch. And I clearly remember telling my mate who is a pixel advocate how much I disliked the P8P ever since I bought it. It was never really a good device Imo. But maybe you are right and I had a dud.
Anyway the P10P has actually been the complete opposite experience from the start.
Still not a fan of the Google os vs Samsung's Overlay. But other than that phone is pretty much perfect.

@Matcha: Yep absolutely I can get screen time of up to 7 hours. The P10P is phenomenal. Very different beast.

I own a P10P. Most of the reports online suggest the move to TSMC didn't really do much for thermals or processing power, but as a user I don't really notice it though. Its still feels amazing to go through the silky smooth UI.

One of if the issues in the past has been the phone overheating when recording at 4K for 10 minutes or more, so curious to know if that's been resolved with the new chip.

I can only imagine what the P10 with the TSMC Tensor G5 is like.
I owned a Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro Fold and got a Pixel 10 Pro 1TB right now and not much has changed besides the fingerprint reader getting better. The TSMC chip is actually a regression in some ways because not even TSMC can save whatever Google's got going on atm. I'm actually thinking of returning the Pixel 10 Pro and switching to the iPhone because Pixel phones are actually starting to become worse in value. Google are asking for $1347 for a 128GB Pixel 10 when the iPhone 17 256GB is going for $1399…

This guy is rich, 3 pixels, an iphone soon 😉

this guy phones

Cause people are running around to pay you to use an Apple??? Also, the majority of world's population disagrees with you.

It's called a figure of speech.
Also, more people use Android globally, holding around 70% of the mobile operating system market share worldwide, while Apple's iOS accounts for approximately 28%.

@Maths Debater: Yes, hence me saying most world would disagree with you, not that they own it… cause the majority wish for Apple and can't afford it! About 2 billion across China and India would change to Apple in a heartbeat if they could! p.s. I would never pick an Apple either, overpriced and always 1 generation behind Android in terms of software and capabilities!!!

Scamsung
Did you mean Samesong ?

Samdung.

What did u not like avout samsung?

Lemon?

THIS IS THE RIGHT PRICE WHEN THEY RELEASED THE PHONE. RRP IS OVERPRICED.

louder please.

How do u determine wether rrp is overpriced btw?

BECAUSE I SAID SO! THEREFORE IT IS OVERPRICED!! (/s do I need this here?)

Praise Jebus for price protection.

It was $100 cheaper just last week at Officeworks

So where is your post?

Maybe also include a deal for a time machine

Why would I make a post when it was already on the front page? Literally the second result (after this post) if you use the search bar, big brain. Here, if that's too difficult for you.

What do you say now to ScottEh, FlyerOne?
No TV for a week if you don't!

for the 256GB variant?

Yes, it was $1,047

$1347 is ATL I believe for the 512GB model too.

Pixel 9 Pro XL were less than this a couple of weeks ago,
I bought it with Price Match from JB Hi-FiGoogle Pixel 9 Pro XL 128GB $898,
256GB $998
All these hate! just saying it is silly to use the reply to say "hey, i got it cheaper before". Good for you, now try to add value rather than padding yourself in the back.

What hate? OP is clearly asking is this all time low for this product, all this is an answer to it. If OP is making a statement claiming it is all time low, this is also useful to invalidate the claim and give people correct information.
If anything you’re the one creating unnecessary drama and wasting peoples time without properly reading the actual post..

Neg because OP doesn't bother to update his description after people clearly state it's far from the ATL, which may make others think they're getting a good deal.

The question isn't whether it's an ATL price, rather if it's the best price you can get for it now. If so, then yes it's a deal, regardless of the products price history.

I don't think that applies when the price fluctuates so often, especially if it's an older model and therefore even more likely to see a bigger discount in the very near future. If "best price at the moment" was a reason to post, you could post a deal for the same item every day.

Most deals are based on "best price at the moment". Whether the person looking at it wants to hold off for a possible ATL is up to them, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it's still a deal compared to other places that may be selling the same item for RRP or more.

I am referring to the 256GB variant mate… And I did not say ATL, I said best price for Google Pixel 9 Pro 5G 256GB $1147.

Upvoted solely to counter your neg. This is not OzATL.

Thanks for the post OP
I'm waiting for it to go below $800

Me too. Instant buy.

Considering Pixel 8 Pro just went sub $800, it might be 12 months wait!

This or a S23 Ultra 1TB for a similar price?

Not really comparable, either you are a fan of Pixel and their stock Android and software, or a Samsung Fan.
