I have reservations about the longevity of this brand and their warranties.

    • Lol who negged this?

    • Hi @DonWilson

Have a look at our annual report http://member.afraccess.com/media?id=CMN://2A1033471&filenam…
We are an ASX listed company and have been since 2007, our shares are held mainly by insiders.

      • -4

Oh, you're ASX listed? I'm so glad you took note of what I posted and responded accordingly, letting me know new facts.

Thanks for linking me a report that… says… your revenue is down… and you lost over a million dollars in the 16-17 tax year?

        • +15

TheIconic.com.au lost over $10m last year. You wouldn’t buy from them?

Tesla is making losses. Wouldn’t buy from them?

Amazon was making losses recently too. Wouldn’t buy there either?

Astivita’s main shareholder seems to have plenty of coin, I am sure they aren’t going anywhere. Probably a safer bet than most companies owned by private equity firms where everything is secret anyway.

        • @vestrosaurus: When an arm loses alot of money, the parent company wont always keep giving it money, will probably just cut it off and merge the staff, or try and sell it off

  • +1

What. How did a company that specialises in white goods get around to making high end gaming monitors.

    • Scrimshaw is right, op's company should revisit their vision in their brand. It seems they want just to make money

      • +10

Having said that xiaomi seems to be doing well

      • +1

        I see the catch now.

"equipped with 60Hz refresh rate at 2560 x 1440 resolution and boosts to an amazing 120Hz when running at 1920 x 1080 Full HD"

So to get 120hz you'll have to set your display resolution to just FHD. Still, $299 seems like a pretty good price — the major concern is the mystery meat panel and components.

        • Well spotted.

    • I wouldn't call this high end.

      • +1

Aren’t we celebrating Made in China today??? ;)

        • +1

Yeah but the monitors that i know of are Made in China too so pretty much all of those can apply. Oh apart from the Samsung of course aren't some of those Made in Korea?.

  • Anyone had any experiences with the monitor?
I've never heard of such a brand before

  • Any reviews on the monitor?

  • +1

cant find a thing about the monitor - pity looks very interesting.

  • Does the monitor have a VESA mount?

Reviews would be good as well if anyone has tried it :)

    • +3

On the back you can see the VESA mount holes.

      • It does have a VESA Mount, thanks misu p)

      • That's a weird spot for vesa holes

  • Was legit tempted to give it a go until I realised - 120Hz refresh rate at Full HD Resolution, 60Hz at 2k Resolution

  • is it freesync at 2k? 1080P at 31.5" is like splinters in your eyes

    • -1

Not 1080p. 2560 x 1440 resolution which is called Quad HD. It's the same resolution that's on my LG 25" 21:9 monitor.

      • at 120hz is 1080P bud

        • Well ok that was be sore on the eyes then.

        • @hollykryten: yeah sound weird . 1080P at 120hz and 2k at 60 hz and doesn't state what res freesync is at. "120Hz refresh rate at Full HD Resolution, 60Hz at 2k Resolution

        • @rokkz: The Freesync range is I believe between 44Hz and 144Hz but will have to get back to you on that one.

        • @Astivita: huh? what resolution , does freesync work at the 2K resolution?

isnt freesync variable hz, not set at 60 to avoid frame loss, it cant be set at 60hz

google:FreeSync uses the video card's functionality to manage the refresh rate of the monitor using the Adaptive Sync standard built into the DisplayPort standard.

        • @Astivita: So FreeSync between 44Hz and 144Hz on a monitor that reportedly runs at 1080p/120Hz and 1440p/60Hz? Does that mean the monitor supports overclocking to 144Hz? Or does the panel itself support up to 144Hz but the display only exposes 1080p/120 and 1440p/60? What about FreeSync support at 2560x1440? Is that only 44Hz-60Hz, or something else? What's the limiting factor behind the monitor not supporting higher refresh rates at 1440p?

      • Your LG 21:9 is 2560X1080.

        • Yeah sorry it is i made a mistake.

  • +1

I wouldn't get too excited by the monitor, you can get an AOC Q3279VWF (probably the same panel and can do 75Hz at WQHD) for the same price from any of the usual online retailers.

Edit: PCCG description for the AOC says "Recommended resolution DP: 2560 x 1440 @ 75Hz" but the other sites I looked at says it can only do 60Hz

    • It can do 2560x1440@75Hz. Source: I own it.

Bought for $279 last eBay 20% off promotion.

It's not the same panel as the AOC is VA.

      • How do you like the AOC? Is it worth the money or should you pick up something a bit more pricey?

  • What's the RGB/AdobeRGB coverage?

    • -4

common dude :) it is a cheap kind of gaming monitor, you are asking too much. It does not have simple stats (like Freesync range) and you want to know this :) ?

      • +2

I agree basic monitor for a good price is ips not tn or va so good value for money

      • How on earth is asking about the colour range of a monitor asking too much?
The colour range of a monitor is no more complicated than the refresh rate.

        • Because this is not that kind of a monitor, if you need good color coverage just buy something that is not cheap, from a brand that is known, that does not advertise the FreeSync or G-sync range or that costs 1000+. If you need this for anything that has to do with color reproduction stop being cheap and buy yourself a decent monitor.

        • -2

          @misu p:
I realise this is clearly not designed to have perfect color reproduction, however colour gamut is generally a standard specification.
If this has 90%+ coverage then it's a great selling point.

    • +2

Or are you asking about the dishwasher?

    • +3

The dishwasher is PANTONE 18-4005 TCX

  • Monitor specs sound interesting but only 120hz at FHD and 60hz at QHD. That's fairly disappointing for a freesync monitor.

  • That monitor is the same as a Crossover, i.e the cheap Korean monitors. The stand is a dead giveaway.

    • I heard Peep would choose Crossover monitors using LG pannel as their bad warranty service.

  • High ambient operating temperature (52º) - (Suited for North Queensland and Northern Territory)

I'm curious. Who provides the warranty support for north qld and northern territory?

    • We provide support throughout Australia and if one of our guys can't get to you easily we will then pay a local company to provide support.
      Thanks
      Astivita

  • Energy 3.0 Star Cooling & 2.5 Star Heating

Sorry to be blunt but it should be illegal to sell air conditioners that are so inefficient. Those efficiency ratings are awful!

    • +1

Wouldnt even be able to get the Government rebate on those ratings either
