Prepaid Sim with Lots of Data

We're going to Tresilian tomorrow and they don't have internet there, so I was after a prepaid sim card with lots of data that I can use to create a hotspot.
I thought that I saw a really cheap one with 40gb (or thereabouts) for the first month.

Any ideas what this might have been?

  • How long are you gone for?

If you need more data than 40GB, I've been using amaysim's prepaid 100GB for $70 while I was waiting for NBN. I found it pretty good. Turned off auto topup and it seems pretty good. Only thing is I couldn't find a way to 'recharge' it early for another 100GB until the month ran out, they seem to only offer 1GB/$10 topups in the month once that data is finished.

Optus is also doing 200GB for $70 on month-to-month. Since this is on their plan pages though, I imagine a credit check will be involved, as it's not pre-paid.

    • I don't think they do the credit check but they do run a coverage check (or at least thats what the odd guy at Optus told me).

With Belong, you get 45GB for $40 first month. I got 15GB extra making it 60GB as a thank you for being a customer. You can get the packs at Coles, Au Post, Officeworks, JB Hifi and 7/11 (all that I know of). Just find their website.

    • Plush if you run out of data you get shaped, not cut off and not charged extra. And unused data is carried over to next month

  • 200gb from Optus for $70.

No contract/Month to month plan which basically is the same as prepaid.

    • But they have to send you a new sim and OP is off on trip tomorrow?

You can sign up for the month to month plan at any Optus shop and be able to take the sim with you once they activate on the spot.

  • Awesome, thanks all.
We're only gone for 5 days, so 18gb from the first link should be sufficient.
