Original PULL5 5% off Sitewide at eBay Deal Post

Powerbank and Jumpstart combined, plus torch. Sure it does not have a massive capacity, but is a compact size and works as claimed. In just the last couple of weeks one of ours has been used to start 2 different vehicles stuck in awkward situations, one a 3.0Lt V6, with no problems. This version designed for up to 3.5Lt engine.

  • Cool.

Is there cca ratings for these things?

    • 300A

      • Wouldnt that be a but low usually for a 3l v6?

        • Yeah that's be the theory.

        • +2

It all depends on how "flat" the battery is of the vehicle you are trying to start.

There are other variables beyond engine capacity that will dictate the end result, such as the compression ratio of the engine, engine temp and fuel type.

      • 150-300A

I'm shocked these things have the amps required. Cool!

  • +1

Any other recommended powerbank that is strong enough to jump start a 4WD with turbo diesel engine e.g. Prado, Everest? Obviously this one will be too weak for a Land Cruiser with V8 4.5L turbo diesel engine.

I am asking for suggestion and opinion, so who is the idiot who neg me?

    • +1

I'm not sure what your budget is but I would personally get something a bit bigger then the stated capacity for a diesel.

For example, I've got a Suaoki G7 and Repco 1200amp jump starter that won't start the 5 cylinder 3L diesel van. But work just fine in the 4L and 3.8L 6 cylinder petrol cars.

It's a bit overkill but the Noco GB70 starts the 6L V8 petrol and the diesel van without any hesitation. The Suaoki U28 was a bit cheaper last time I looked and seems to offer similar levels of performance as the Noco.

      • Thanks michaelj08 for the Noco GB70 and Suaoki U28 suggestion, but they are a bit on the expensive side :(

    • I have the Antigravity one http://www.ctaaustralia.com.au/products/category/QTOXIRMW

Great jump starter. Jumps a 3L diesel V6 several times even without a battery at all. No problem at all. Starts up to 7L diesel engines. Expensive but really good. I have the XP-10

  • +1

Perfect for jump starting my 12v $199 Hummer.

  • "+" for showing the correct mAh value. Not 50800mAh like some sellers.
    e.g.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/50800mAh-Portable-Car-Jump-Start…

    • Even if they take one Zero away it is still too high lol

Also had to laugh at : Life Cycle:3000 Times….as if!

    • True.
But, it must be my OCD, but I cringe when I see the deal's title as Mah. Surprisingly, TGG gets it right (mAh).

Does this one hold it's charge?
I have one bought from Target and it needs to be charged every fortnight or it doesn't have enough left to start a car.

    • +3

The details state the Hummer holds it's charge for 6+ months and can still start a car the way described ( so probably still has 30+% capacity ).

I have a Suaki from ebay ( had awesome reviews on Amazon.com ) and can tell you mine held charge for one year only losing around 20%.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Suaoki-G7-G7-PLUS-Car-Jump-Start…

The great part with this inexpensive Hummer ( regular price between $99-$149+, even $180 on Amazon.india ), if anything goes wrong within one year ( and can get a dud ) it's local warranty big bonus.

That's an interesting kit. A powerbank, a jump starter and an air compressor. How well does the air compressor work?

        • +1

Figured if I'm going to have the emergency battery then the air comp kit is a nice added bonus for emergencies.

It is compact and just plugs into the battery and works well. This all comes neatly packed in a top quality hard zipper case for storage.

If you need a more powerful bigger all in one battery/air comp. combo this brand does that for extra too.

There are drop downs options for some of the ebay listings, it has a carry handle on top built in, good for bigger 4x4 diesel/V8 motors with lot's to pump up max pressure.

    • +3

In our experience so far yes, holds it's charge and appears to be of good quality. I purchased a couple a few months back for the kids to keep in their cars. For the one that was used recently it was recharged, after being used as a phone charger :), and sat in the boot for about 2 months, before, funnily enough, being used to jump-start two different cars within a couple of days and still had enough capacity showing for another car start.

      • +2

I wouldn't leave these chargers in the car. It's to hot for lithium batteries to be stored in the heat. At the very minimum the heat will degrade the cells and give it a shorter life span.
Not to sure with lipos but generally any operation over 80 Celsius is risky. In summer a car can get up to 60 Celsius easily.

  • Three pictures and none of them show the available inputs/outputs clearly.

Anyone know if this is charged with micro-USB?

    • +1

      USB is limited to 5V.
THese cells are stacked for 12v opperation.
Most likely a circular power input

  • I use the one below cost more but is a known brand with decent reviews

    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/RAVPower-14000mAh-1000A-Compact-Ca…

    • Yep, yours and the one I use linked above have larger capacity/more features, but for a back up to leave in boot or garage for people with a small car, or as a gift this would be ok.

From what I read this has Japanese chip inside and actually a good small battery for it's intended purpose. Also over $100 normally, and local warranty at The Good Guys too.

  • +2

Personally I have been using one of these units for the last 3 years.
A little under 4 times the capacity for around $30 more

    • ^^THIS^^

Have been using same brand although and has not missed a beat.

Still bought one of these now for the missus who has a small 1.8 Lt. as a back-up to leave in her boot.

      • This powerbank came in real handy after the cyclone last year.
The power was out and this guy recharged my iphone and ipad as well as powering a usb wifi dongle

    • 800CCA… nice…

    • 800CCA… nice…

  • CCA on these is 300Amp, which is pretty gutless. Others referenced in the discussion here are between 600-800CCA

    • +2

True, but the proof of the pudding was in the eating…horses for courses :).

    • Says up to 3.5L petrol or 2.0L Diesel on box.

      • +1

Be wary of product specs of cheap China products.

  • +2

im glad i read this - time to replace the bulky jumper lead cables in the boot of my car with one of these suaoki models!

    • should i replace my roadside assist with suaoki as well ?

      • Might as well replace your partner while you are at it…

        • Mine is not partner but wife, how about that?

      • +1

given the only thing ive used RAA for is to jump start me (except once when i had a proton satria that grenaded itself on tapleys hill road and needed a tow), it might be worth considering!

  • Pulled the trigger. Thanks OP

  • Will this jump start my Tesla

    • -1

As you can afford tesla, perhaps worth getting RACV/NRMA subscription instead? To ensure your beauty not fried by a cheap $50 item

  • +1

i bought one of this last week and it also comes with air pump.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=suaoki+20000mah&_bl…

  • I wonder when Ebay will have another 10% off sitewide to make these deals even more attractive?
A few close together recently but perhaps Officeworks complained they had to keep closing their Ebay store…
