    Good work….

Thanks, any updates on the terms that I've missed?

      • +10

Yes. Items must be sent to me for…… quality inspection. Yes, that’ll do

        • Will you send it back though?

  • +8

May I be the first to say good work…

    • +1

      But you weren't the first…

      Too much information.
Oh, you mean pulling a cart!
      Still… too much information…

  • +6

    Thanks OP!

  • +9

5% off? Must be a late April Fools, where's the 10% they were spamming last week?

    • +1

      Back in last week.

      • +9

I received an email just after 12pm Sunday with the subject "10% off site-wide!" - but there was no coupon code anywhere to be found in the email.

        • +5

If you call them to complain they may give you a 10% code or a voucher.

        • +1

          @PJC:

          I got that too.

        • +1

@Adz11: Call them. Tell them you're on a tight budget.

        • +1

          @PJC:

Just finished on ebay chat/ email and they honored the 10% off via a special one off code.

        • @ultramic:

I also just used chat - I had some items already in my cart and they gave me a $15 off code (which was slightly more than 10%).

        • @ultramic: Well done.

        • @AdrianW: Good move.

        • Could you please send a screenshot of the email?

        • +1
        • I just spoke to ebay on chat about this, I had to send in a screenshot and they'll review and get back to me. I pushed for action now, but knocked back. Hoping to get 10% as the click bait stated.

        • Wow… Super quick reply, they've says they'll honour the discount this one time. Asked me to tell them the item number of what I wanted to purchase and they generated a 10% off code did that amount. Perhaps I should have quoted a higher priced item ;)

        • @Tigerstu:
Where did you send the screenshot?
They said send a screenshot of the email after the chat finished, but I don't know where to send it?

        • @SirNoble:

I replied to the email they sent with the transcript of the chat. They wanted a screenshot showing my email address/username (I guess to stop us using a generic one).

I had something in my cart worth $500 - they sent me a $50 one-time code :) Thanks for the tip!

        • +1

          @PJC:
Thanks for the tip, I did the online chat and they just asked me to describe the email, then asked me how much the thing I wanted to buy was, then generated a discount code for 10% off that.
Very friendly about it too. Thumbs up for service on that one.

        • @Glider: Well done.

        • Calling to complain about this initially resulted in a 10% voucher, I asked if I could get a $ off voucher instead, and they provided a 10 dollar one. Thanks mang.

    • This is min 30 the 10% was min 75
so you don't need to blow 75+ for a discount

    any iphone deals?

    • +3

      why don't you look yourself?

      • +3

i ve been looking for the last 7 days mate

        • +7

Probably would've been better off with the 10% off sitewide last week then

        • +5

if you've been looking for 7 full days how come you dont already know the answer?

        • +2

And u still havnt buy the iphone yet? Tight arse, proud ozbargainer, keep looking for another 7 months.

    • Yes.

  • +1

Id love to have a pull thanks ebay

  • But I want 10% :''''(

  • +1

any chance 10% will be back soon?

    • +7

Hang on just jumping in my DeLorean now.

      • +1

Oops the flux capacitor ran out of banana skins!

    • Just buy with the 5% and then when 10% comes claim price protection through your credit card :)

  • +1

Is there just going to be a perpetual 5% eBay code from now on?

    • Seems like it. As one expires another one replaces it for a long time now.

  • waiting for 15% again

    • +15

      Thanks for letting us know.

  • +2

oh wow another 5% off. Ozbargain is the real reason why we can't save up to buy a house in Sydney!

    • +3

It's all those smashed Eneloops on toast.

  • And again, good find OP.

One question on this deal, if I'm selling something and payment is Cash how does the buyer get the 5% off? I want to advertise it with my item.

    Thanks

    • +1

Unfortunately the buyer will need to pay with PayPal to get the 5% discount, so payment with cash won't work.

      • Thats what I figured but couldn't find that anywhere. Thanks

  • -5

+244 upvotes overnight and no deals in the related tab.

    Great bargain

    • +2

How about you look at the 7 pages of deals (154 deals) on the old post and try again.

    • +3

It's sitewide so the "bargain" is anything you want over $30

    • +2

It's better than not using the code. It reduced half the prices on my 100 CITIZEN Eco-Drive Watches post.

    • +4

the price jack has nothing to do with ebay & any true ozbargainer would take 5% sitewide over nothing.

    • +7

You very recently signed up to OZB just to make negative comments with foul language?

      Interesting.

    • +1

From memory eBay makes 10% on the sale and 3% from PayPal so to give the buyer 5 of that is still very generous. Price jacking by stores who are part of the 20% off deals aren't related to these 5% off site wide deals. I'm always appreciative for any of these site wide discounts and prefer them over the half funded 20% limited store deals.

Considering the amount of upvotes in 1 day no-one else seems to think like you.

    • +1

this 5% code is sitewide and works on almost any kind of purchase and seller. It could be a second hand item and it can also be applied to a Auction and Best Offer item.

It's good for everyday purchases, even unplanned ones.

the seller specific codes are more situational — yes, price jacks means that you have to do more research (which involves just one extra click to see the sales history and what the price use to be) but sellers don't usually pricejack for the 5% codes.

  • +6

Thanks OP. Got ~$2 back on top of 1% CR. Winning at life.

  • great

  • Yay, saved $2 :)

  • I have 12 items totalling $30.00 exactly (after discounts) in my cart and it says i haven't got the minimum amount :-(

I might need a 1 cent item to take me over?

    • +1

      Never mind - it's because there's a max 10 items per transaction.

    • Bollocks!

  • +1

Awesome! Just saved $42.45 on a laptop with Dell eBay store. Thank you

  • Is there is an end date for it?

  • If I make an offer on a product and is accepted is 5% applicable?

    • +2

Yes, if the new total exceeds $30.

  • Can this be used on auctions if you're the winning bidder or is it just for buy it now items that can be added to cart?

    • +2

Yep it works on all buying options, BIN or Auction work.

  • +1

Code is erroring out for me :(

    • +1

Same here. It's saying. "We ran into a problem. Please try again later."

  • Marketing team confirmed that this code has expired. Are they likely to issue a new code tomorrow?

    • +1

These codes may start working tomorrow, otherwise I'm not 100% sure
