860

Got an email this morning about my Annual OnePass subscription ending.

Went to go cancel it and they gave me an offer to renew my subscription for $20.

I went to cancel yesterday and saw I already had a $20 discount applied for the renewal

    • I am stating the obvious, but it does seem a "one-cer", my subscription rate is back up to $40.
I would say the $20 is cheap, I am not sure if cancelling my subscription will induce another discount…
Has the closure of the "Massive" discount online retailer: "Catch-of-the-day," made a difference??
I think there are some real bargains direct from the actual retailers K-mart, Target and Priceline, then delivered for free via OnePass.
The link for Bunnings is useful, despite my dislike of little retailers being decimated.
Anyone use Instascript for GP or script services?

I think the 365 day return policy as a One member is useful.

        • Its misleading on their sales page. You don't actually get this.
In the T&C's it then restricts this down
          1. subject to each brands conditions
          2. goods must be basically unused (tags still on, packaging)
          3. lots of excluded items, e.g. underwear/clothing can't be taken back due to health reasons

So all it is, is a vague promise to take back items that are unused and still properly packaged for 1 year.

Officeworks, Bunnings do better than this without OnePass as long as your polite when returning items so it only really applies to the other brands and they'll have a ton of exclusions, especially kmart and priceline.

If it allowed return of used items without exclusions like the old Costco policy.. that would be different but it does not.

If you spend $400 a year at Kmart, Target, Bunnings, the membership pays for itself in the Flybuys points at $20/year. Coles allows you to cash in 2000 points for $10 off your shop. With the 5x Flybuys points applied when shopping at any of their department/big box brands, it pays itself off.

        • +2

$400 in store, not including free delivery service

          • @Pusdi: They must’ve changed this policy recently, because I’ve definitely purchased items online that have qualified for the 5x Flybuys points

Again another misleading offer which means the calculation above is wrong.

A customer would have to spend more like $1,000 plus their labour to get it configured properly not $400 so $2000+ spend for a new $40 membership to break even without recovering the cost of their time.

Remember the only pay 4x points, not 5x points (flybuys pays the first set of points) and 2000 gets only $10 off not $20.

Everyone should factor in the labour on setting up the service and linking all accounts which can result in the service taking months to get fully configured and working, and the matching phone calls and follow ups with each brand to unlink, relink, revalidate as many times as is required to get things working. Their technology approach is ancient and very fragile because their linking so many very different brands together.

Nope. One flybuys point is worth 0.5 cents. So you'd need to spend $1k to breakeven.

I spent $1k on a laptop at Officeworks during the free trial (really was $870 on giftcards), pocketed my $25 worth of points and cancelled my membership lol.

    • Would have been this mega-code-deal a few months ago

I have the same $20 off already.

Must be laundering money to be offering detergent

  • Cancellation detergent sounds like something I need to control my other half.

    Assuming you mean deterrent

Wouldn't mind a cancellation detergent to clean up my mistakes

$20 Annual OnePass Subscription Renewal. Cancellation Detergent

Someone needs to clean up that title

  • Willing to cancel if they offer detergent with softner.

  • Will cancellation detergent get rid of tough stains on my white shirt?

    • Only if you Drive there

  • Title really needs cleaning up!

  • +2

Have an expired membership, no offer of discount or detergent. Disappoint.

  • +3

I am on a 60 day trial, went to cancel, and it had no offer of detergent.

  • +5

No offer for me. I let it lapse. I impulse buy a lot less now.

    • I so want this offer but also so don't want it.

  • +27

I'm never making a spelling mistake again 😂

    • +3

Good to hear you're cleaning up your act

  • No offer received since membership lapsed. Would renew if it was.

  • Thanks mine was about to renew… cancelled and got the $20 offer :)

  • +1

For people who are getting the $20 offer can you let us know how far away from renewal you were. Same if you're not getting offered it. Would be interested to see if this is a factor.

Mine is due 15th Sep and got the reminder email today. Hit cancel before I saw this deal and on next page they offer the $20

    • Mine was due for renewal at the end of the month, for the email yesterday. Haven’t had much delivered lately so thought I’d just cancel it but for $20 I’ll keep it another year. The extra points at Bunnings alone for make it worth it for me!

    Why bother?

Not worth it at $20 for me.

    • Terrific!

  • +2

Thanks OP. I found the same offer as well. Definitely worth for $20 as we shop quite a lot from Kmart, OW, Target etc

  • Just cancelled my membership, but did not get the detergent.

    • +4

My member was expired last month

      Hope you had fun.

  • +1

    Yea no offer cancelled.

I went to cancel my membership a few days out from expiry at the end of June. Was offered a renewal for $20 plus a $10 Kmart gift card. I renewed!

    • Same here.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Perfect timing as I received my renewal email earlier and it's expiring on 15 Sept. I've got the $20 discount in the process of cancellation that will apply during the renewal next month. 🥳

Really want to wash my hands of onepass, the detergent will help.

  • +6

tried to cancel to get the cheaper offer

didn't work, realised i don't really need onepass, cancelled anyway. saved $40 for next year

    thanks OP

    • Same here. I might have used once or twice free shipping from bunnings. Saving 40 and spending 20 on shipping is still cheaper.

  • No luck here either, it just showed how many extra Flybuys points I got over time. Might try again closer to when mine renews (mid September).

  • I got the bonus, thanks

  • Just went to check my membership. This is what came up:

    active membership
    OnePass
    Annual plan
    Automatic renewal in 45 days
    Next payment
    Amount:
    $20
    Offer discount:
    $20.00 off
    Date:
    30 September 2025
    Card ending in ****

I have a vague memory of initiating a cancellation quite a while ago to see if a retention bribe would be offered.

  • +1

Did anyone find that the renewal email didn’t even mention the cost to renew, being a questionable practice?

  • +1

I tried to renew back. It still showed me $40 with no discount either by email or website on mobile. My plan ends jan 26

  • +2

I find frequently driving to Bunnings, and then spending an hour walking a few kilometres around the store, looking for the items on my shopping list, make the free delivery for many items with the Onepass membership a no brainer alone.

  • Don't think I would renew at $40 but I find the free delivery occasionally useful and so renewed in June - I started the cancellation process and it was offered plus $10 Kmart coupon. Sorry didn't note dates but would have been a week or two before expiry.

  • Thank you! I got the email last week and was honestly happy to pay the full amount so I left it until I saw your post. Just went through and got the $20 discount!
