      Datapoint: asked for a pricematch with Tempe Tyres at the Jax Alexandria store, they went OK will need to talk to head office, got a call back and they did drop the price close but not quite at the same price as Tempe.

    I've never had a good experience with Jax. The amount of times I've seen other people complain as well while I'm in the waiting room.

    I'm sure they aren't all bad but look up reviews before you go to a specific location.

        Yeah, Westpac issued Amex cards ended yesterday . My card was then switched to & reissued by Amex, but it's still tied to my Westpac business account. You should have got an offer to switch as well.

    It says the cashback on the Michelin is instant. Does anyone know if that comes off the total price before paying. The four tyres I want come to $436. But if they take the $50 off the total it’s only $386 which makes the cahsback ineligible.

        When I got my Michelin Tyres last week, unfortunately before this deal, they took the $100 when I paid.

        Look at the add, it says Instant Cash Back.

        Get a wheel alignment or something to take it over the $400.

          It depends what the cashback is.

          If it is a cashback done by Michelin/Bridgestone etc then it'll be deducted from the invoice.
          If it's a cashback done by Amex then it'll be reimbursed after payment.

          EDIT: Actually i stand corrected…! As the $100 is from Michelin then it'll be deducted from the invoice

          Yep correct, but stickymoo was referring to the Michelin cashback which is instant at time of purchase.

          Correct. You could technically ask them to round it up to $450, pricing for tyres are pretty discretionary

      In the past, it's a gift/eftpos card that they swipe through the machine to just take off the $50 or $100 off the total. You might be able to ask them to take the eftpos card instead

      Wheel alignment is $49 which brings it over :) with the $50 off from Michelin and the $100 back from Amex. $335 for four Michelin Agilis fitted with wheel alignment. Probably close to the best price I can get. In stock at the local Jax and can do it tomorrow too.

    Like Hunter80 above, I'm happy to help a fellow OzBargainer get this discount in the SE Melbourne region (such as Frankston). You pay me your invoice price minus $100 and that's it :)

          Ps4 are a great tyre. I got a set at the last Bob Jane amex deal in December. Very happy with them.

          Price matched with Tempe whilst I was in melb. Told the guy I was driving up for Xmas (I've still got NSW plates on) so I could either get them now or whilst I was up there in a few weeks time.
