Jb used to sell it around $300 range

The Delta 50 is elegant in design with its contemporary rounded cabinet and aluminium baffle, available in either high gloss black or white. The medium density fibreboard enclosure allows for very low distortion when listing to music at high volume.

Listening wirelessly may be a trend of our time, but the advantage offered by wireless data transfer is often eliminated by unsatisfactory sound quality. Nakamichi has worked diligently to create a perfect combination of wireless freedom and acoustic performance – while ensuring everything fits in with the elegant form of the Delta 50.

Thanks to Bluetooth technology and high quality Near Field Communication (NFC), wireless music is transmitted in CD quality sound.

They never sold around $300, Nakamichi has been bought out by a Chinese company these days and quality isnt that great. Pretty sure soniq owns it as they use the speaker in their tv's

    • Yep, nothing on what it used to be

  • Glorious brand in the 90's I wonder if it's finished like Aiwa, Sansui etc

    • +1

It's not the same legendary company from the 70s. The Real Nakamichi went bankrupt in the 90s and was sold to the Chinese. Grande Holdings at one point owned them along with Akai and Sansui but pretty sure they went bankrupt too. I'm sure the current Nakamichi stuff is OK but it's not going to be the amazing stuff from the 70s.

    • Very funky tape players https://youtu.be/zNA7EuGQVSU?t=33

      • I still have a 1980s Nakamichi cassette deck like that, the loading mechanism is simpler though.

They were THE player back in the day.

  • not the old Nakamichi in any way - good advertising presentation.

regularly on sale at jb's -look like moved to clearance finally

  • +2

This speaker doesn't support aptX or LDAC, therefore it cannot achieve anywhere near CD quality sound over bluetooth

  • I wish Nakamichi would bring out a new version of the Sound Space 3

  • Can I pay for this using JB HiFi egift card ?
I have $100 egift card from xmas gift, would like to use, then pay the extra $2.50 via ppal, if possible.
