  • Anyone know any that will do QC 3.0 on both USB ports?

    • -1

Images show you and the answer is no. Orange port is QC 3.0 and white is 5V/2.4A.

      • +5

I didn't ask about this one as I could clearly see for myself. I asked if anyone knew of any others that did.

    • +2

I don't believe Blitzwolf make any, but I think this Tronsmart one does
      https://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-w2tf-36w-dual-p…

      • Thanks but out of stock unfortunately. Doesn't look like they do an AU plug either :S

      • I had the QC2.0 version of that charger and it worked fine for about a year, then one of the ports stopped doing QC (only regular USB charging).

I would like to see a charger with AU (or China) native power pins that do QC3.0 on both ports.

        • Looking at all of them they seem to just use a figure 8 AC cable anyway. No worry about what plug you get if you can just use a local figure 8.

        • @potplanty:

I'm talking about the 2-port ones that plug directly into a wall. Not the 5/6-port ones that do use a figure 8 cable.

        • @kevlarman: Best bet is to snip-snip and buy your own plug from Bunnings then. Or desolder an existing cord with AU plug and then resolder it in place of the original one.

  • Is this going to burn down my house?

    • +12

Yes. It'll even make it look accidental.

    • +4

ask the BG rep, maybe they can do a bundle deal with this

Everything electrical has the potential to burn down your house.

Finally someone posts a very valid and sensible question re buying eletrical/electronic which are not Oz approved (and got negged for it!).
Usually I see people posting - "Don't need one but bought it anyway. Thanks op!" :-)

      • +3

You mustn't have been here very long if you haven't seen that same concern posted in every single charger/power board thread ever.

  • +1

Is this better than the original Samsung charger plug? Faster charge?

    • wanna know this too

    • +2

Samsung AFC is a cut down version of Quick Charge 2.0 rebranded. Operating at only 5V and 9V.

This BW charger is better as it has QC 3.0.

      • +2

Hi mate, how does this compares to the one in the post, apart from US pins.

Seems very cheap though. Other pins i.e EU & UK ones are selling for ~$32 AUD

  • Is this good enough for to power a Raspberry Pi 3?

    • +1

yep. the Rpi3 can draw down 2.5A max in theory, but a 2.4A will be plenty.

      • Thanks :)

  • Can anyone recommend something with two USBs, qc3.0 and a usb-c port? Does anything exist?

  • +1

On this subject, does anyone know the difference between
    * BlitzWolf® Ampcore Plus BW-TC9
    and
    * BlitzWolf® Ampcore Plus BW-TC10
    ?

They are exactly the same, except cable length.

But seriously, cable length shouldn't be classified as different model #

    • +1

I can't see any difference in those two models other than the cable length. I have previously noticed that BlitzWolf does seem to use different model numbers for cable length.

  • Shows $14.67. how to get for $14.35?

    • Pay with USD

  • iPhone doesn’t support quick charging I think.
So if I charge the iPhone using one of the QC ports, would it be detrimental to the iPhone ?

    • +2

It won't have any affect. The iPhone will suck as much power as it needs and nothing more.

  • Does anyone know if this charges quickly with the OnePlus 5T Phones? (Dash Charge)

I've read you can of cause use any charger with OnePlus 5T phones and it will fall back to the lower common denominator of standard charging speeds however it's not listed what that actually is? (Eg, can the phone call back to using Quick Charge to still get a decent speed of charge?)… anyone tried and have some results they are happy to share?

    Cheers!

    • +1

Dash charge uses another type of fast-charging tech from what I believe, so no this won't.

      • Cheers for that, reason for the question is before I purchased another phone for my wife Motorola G5S Plus which has something called "TurboPower™ charging" however I've found it charges very well with one of these BlitzWolf BW-S6 QC 3.0 adaptors and still reports it has fast charging active when in use (to it seems it falls back to Quick Charge and still charges fast which is nice)…

I'm just not sure how the OnePlus5 T will work (it's currently in transit and hope to get it later this week)… Hope it too will fall back to Quick Charge standard…

        • TurboPower is Motorola's rebrand of Quick Charge 2.0.

DashCharge operates at 5V/4A so a QC3 charger is just going to switch back to 5V/2A.

        • @Clear:

Thanks for that, I was hoping the OnePlus might have still been able to also support QC being a Qualcomm chip but guess I'm out of luck and need to look for a "Dash Charge" Device for work and the car instead… Cheers again!

        • @Jonc: Yup OnePlus cheaped out on the OnePlus and used their own proprietary charging tech instead of paying Qualcomm's license to use theirs.

        • (profanity) Motorola, Oneplus and Oppo can all go (profanity) themselves with their bullshit proprietary charging. Use PD or QC or (profanity) off.

        • @potplanty: R u o.k?

        • @potplanty: To be fair Motorola's TurboPower is QC. The only difference is the name and fully backwards compatible.

This is where QC4+ comes in. Uses a USB-C port, backwards compatible with USB-PD and compliant. Too bad there are about 2 devices that support it.

  • so this will fast charge an iPhone 8/8+/X and won't blow up my house?

    • +6

no, it won't. your iPhone will blow up your house

  • Thanks OP. Ordered.

  • Thanks Op. Ordered 2 chargers.
