Is this bandwidth limited? Or full 4G speeds?

    • Either, Optus has the offer 200GB for $70 Month to Month!

  • +2

This seems slightly better? Optus 4G Triple Data Sim ($70 My Mobile Broadband Plus 200GB)

Also consider: VividWireless (Unlimited Data Plan - $90/month)

    • +1

I'd agree with the Optus 4G triple Data Sim because it allows for unlimited mobile tv streaming. However, the drawback is its a 24 month lock-in contract.

      • +1

        Nope:

        Minimum term
You can get this plan on a month-to-month
        or 24 month contract.

        Sales Page

        • You're right. I also noticed that the link you have there drops off the unlimited mobile tv streaming.

I am currently with Vividwireless and for the hassle of getting a new hardware to support the 4G modem it's not worth it.

@Cheapcuda: I put my OVO sim in my Vivid modem with no issues.

    • No streaming shaping and no $10 per gb if you go over. Depends on your usage I guess.

Vivid wireless capped speed unlimited data vs full speed/150gb and use any modem and band. Depends on your preference

Dollar wise, you options are better but I don't believe the OVO speeds are limited and the Optus and Vivid are limited to 12MBPs download in metro areas. Having said that, network congestion is the great leveller so YMMV

      • Oh interesting about the speed limitations, I've never used Optus or Vivid to be honest as they do not have the best coverage for me. Just did a quick search to see if any other Optus Network providers had similar deals.

      • "Optus and Vivid are limited to 12MBPs download in metro areas."

Are you sure about the Optus one as capped? I'm on Vividwireless now and just about to switch to Optus, there's no mention of Optus being capped whatsoever on the Whirlpool Threads. Optus has 2 offers, the Home Wireless Broadband (speed capped) and the Mobile Broadband - 200gb for $70 per month, no lock in contract.

        • According to Yescrowd, Optus is capped at 12MBPs but depending on where you live and how congested it is, it might be less. https://yescrowd.optus.com.au/t5/Broadband-Telephony/Speeds-…
Having said that, there are people who are saying that it's not capped…
Maybe to be safe, do the $15 month to month to see what speeds you get and if it's ok then go to the 200GB?

@halfnhalf71: you’re confusing the Optus mobile broadband 200GB (not capped speeds) with the Optus Home Wireless broadband (capped speeds, comparable product with Vivid).

Right now they’re both $70 for 200GB so the confusion is understandable, but the mobile broadband offer is the winner since it’s same data and price with no speed limits.

        • yeah people seem to not get the detail of home wireless broadband vs mobile broadband ….. one is capped the other isn’t for speed.

    • vivid is capped.

  • I just need a 200gb+ plan at full 4g speeds to be able to drop my broadband plan

    • Optus offer this right now, no speed cap.
You can get $70 month to month 200GB, or $70 with 200GB on 24 month plan with an iPad or modem included at no extra cost.

  • “ Unlimited data-free entertainment and sport streaming on OVOPlay “

Would be good to know what sports are there and how old. Also what is there frequency for content refresh.

What reasonably priced modem for the optus broadband sim? Need one that has a network port to plug into the router.

  • I need about half this data amount, at the moment Jeenee's 50GB for $54 is the best offer I've found, unless there's anything else better?

    • Optus currently has 50GB for $50 month to month, or if you’re looking long term then you can get the new 2018 iPad on a 24 month contract for $50 with 50GB included.

      • Thanks mate.
