  • Anyone had any experience with these mattress? Would this be ok for a male about 6ft tall weighing about 100kg?

    • +8

I'd recommend you looking up Zzz.atelier on Ebay instead.

We were explained by the guy that runs the business (whether it's true or not) that OzPlaza actually copied this particular type of mattres from Zzz.atelier. They're not only of poorer quality but they're in fact quite uncomfortable.

We decided to buy a queen size mattress from Zzz.atelier (after giving it a try at their Melbourne office) for our guest room and we ended up using it in our own bedroom. They also have a sample of the OzPlaza mattress for comparison.

Zzz.atelier's mattress is not only more comfy than Eva or LazyBed but it also doesn't get hot, all at a very competitive price.

BTW, I'm not affiliated with zzz.atelier. I just enjoy writing honest reviews from me bed šŸ˜‰

      • Do you know what's the difference between the different models? Are they all basically the same but different thickness?

        • Firmness

      • Finally some information on these! Thank you! Each seller seems to have like 5 different models and it was impossible to find any comparisons besides the marketing material on the eBay page.

I'm still in my 100 day return for Sleep Republic's mattress, finding it a little firm for a side sleeper. Do you think it'd be a good idea to swap it for a zzz?

        • +1

The black label from zzz is quite firm too. It's firm yet comfortable at the same time. The red label is slightly softer but the top layer is not as thick.

        • @7es7ash: Thanks for the information, again.

I'm thinking of just getting a mattress topper now, but I seem to be stuck between down (duck or goose, 5% down 95% feather), or bamboo (but with polyester covers). But all of those sound like they'll get pretty hot in the summer. Do you know if they will stay cool, or have other (non-foam/gel) alternatives?

        • +1

@xrailgun: Sorry I can't comment on any mattress toppers as I don't use them. One thing I can say is that the zzz.atelier mattress does not get hot as it doesn't have so called 'cooling gel' that only simulates coolness for about 20-30 minutes before it gets really hot.

        • @7es7ash: I now doubt all of my life choices…

  • Bought two years back and used daily. Going fine till now. ideal for guest room.

I would say the quality is ok for what you pay but they are not very decent. I bought a mattress from this seller and have had it for 2 years now. It is not that bad but sometimes I wake up with back ache in the morning.
Some people pay much more but they still complain so Iā€™m not really sure what would be the ideal mattress for a reasonable price.

    • Probably not firm enough for you. There are guides online on how to choose a type of mattress to suit. Ultimately lying down on one in-store is the best way but you can try your best to find the closest thing online.

  • How is this compare to ZZZ?

  • Seems to be a good write up, foam + springs? Is it just a normal cheap mattress with a pillow top you can buy from IKEA?

Happy zzz.atelier.outlet.store customer going on 2 years now I don't see why I should pay 1k for a mattress these days

  • I bought the zzz queen 5 zone pocket spring from their eBay outlet store. Had great reviews. Thanks for the advice

Blissful sleep on a zzz black label double for about 3 months. Payed $200, very happy and bed is firm given its rating of 6 which is what I had hoped for.

  • Side handles!!! I also looked at ZZZ but they had sold out of the ones I was interested in… (no zones). Are these zoned, or not. Looking at a double.

  • I'm in the market for a mattress and ZZZ Atelier (black label) seems to be getting a lot of favourable reviews, on and off OzBargain.

There are >100 very positive reviews on productreview, but many of the posters have only written 1 review and owned the mattress <3 months. The positive reviews are very similarly written, from the way the mattress deflates to how it's the best sleep ever and would highly recommended etc., so they appear to be paid reviews.

Are these mattresses really THAT good or do these people get paid to write these reviews? Are there anyone here that actually own one of these and are genuinely happy with it, long term?

Please tell me I'm dreaming if I think I can actually get a decent mattress at <$300.

Edit: I did read a couple of poor comments on these mattresses here and with the seller's bad/non-existent warranty, this made me more wary about purchasing one.. Having said all that I'm still very close to buying one as I've got a guest coming over next week and my spare room is still empty…

They might be paid, not sure. Their prices are really low but wouldn't suprise me. Anyway, I've got assured firm from zzz and it's really good.

  • in the past 2 years I have purchased 3 new beds, all of which end up creating a dip in the middle after a 1-4 months .. making it extremely uncomfortable and sometimes painful .. all stating they are the best all confirming they would not do that (of course with no money back guarantee to back it).. I am going with recommendations for the zzz black label because I trust my fellow OB's .. hope it helps .. so thanks for the hijack and taking me to zzz to try out .. i really hope it works out

  • Well, I am also planning to go with zzz retailer but the only downside is that they don't have the 20% discount .. Am I right? Or would I be able to use PUMP20 code ? I tried but it doesn't work….

    • PULL5 worked for me (5%) and if you're getting it, buy it from the link below as they have a couple of pages with different prices for the same product, one more expensive than the other.
